Being a mom, Sometimes I feel like I need a break from being too hard on myself and society.

🕯I need a break from self-criticism and societal expectations.
🕯I need a break from worrying about my appearance and being told my pizza wasn’t good enough for my kids because it wasn’t organic.
🕯I need a break from hating my body and pushing myself to the brink because no one else would do it.
🕯I need a break from being told what to eat, how to sleep, and which childcare setting is best.
💡I need a break from perfectionism and expect to be the perfect wife, mom, and worker.
💡I need a break from the cycle of thinking I’m always doing something wrong and am not enough.
🌺My kids don’t need perfection; they need laughter, playfulness, and happiness.

As I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized how fragile life is.

I’m not into flowers or grand gestures.

What I want is for my kids to be healthy and safe, surrounded by love.

Having them around is the best gift ever ❤️ I’ll treasure it always.

Check on your wife—not just on her daily tasks.

Look deeper, like she does with your children.

Did she eat? Has she rested? Is she holding it together while struggling inside?

Check her eyes—are they tired? Check her heart—is it heavy?

She’s not just a mom; she’s a woman with her dreams and feelings.

Sometimes, all she needs to hear is, “I see you. I’m here.”

Be kind to your parents. It’s their first time living too.

They didn’t get a manual. They raised you while carrying their own pain. They worked while they were tired. They tried their best.

They didn’t always say the right words. They didn’t always show love the way you needed. But they tried in small ways. A packed meal. A “Where are you?” A quiet wait by the door.

Sometimes they were too strict. Sometimes they were distant. But look closer. Behind the worry was love. Behind the silence was stress.

They are not perfect. But they gave all that they could.

So be kind. Be patient. They’re still learning too. Just like you.

Your second baby will make you wonder why one was ever hard, but show you that a sibling is the best gift for your first.

You’ll wish for four hands, yet find there’s less mess to clean. Your confidence as a mom will grow, but you’ll realize how much you still have to learn.

Your second baby will teach you efficiency while reminding you to slow down. You’ll wish for more hours in the day but long to savor every moment.

Ultimately, your heart will double in size as you split your time, attention, and patience between two amazing little ones.
