Alhamdullah.
All the praise is for the Almighty Allah whose grace has enabled me to bring out the book titled "Business Mathematics ( In English) ". The primary objective of this textbook is to provide the basic concepts and applications of Mathematics suited to the needs of students pursuing for the BBA(Hons) First Year Students of Management, Marketing and Finance & Banking under National University according to the new syllabus of 2024-2025.

I have introduced adequate formats basing on the nature of the problems in the book so that the students of all levels and other readers interested in mathematics can get hold of the subject at ease and comfort. A huge number of mathematical problems and solutions to the problems have been incorporated in the book. Besides, the mathematical problems have been presented in formats so that one can solve his problems with the help of formats and solved exercises.

Despite my utmost efforts, there might have some inadvertent mistakes in the book. I implore every one to condone these inadvertent mistakes. But, to me, the main concern is to present the ideas of mathematics to the students in an easy and lucid manner. In this regard, I can be immensely benefited by the advice of the teachers and students concerned. Hopefully, the next edition will come out in an enlarged and corrected form.

আলহামদুলিল্লাহ।
সকল প্রশংসা মহান সৃষ্টিকর্তার যার অশেষ কৃপায়" এক নজরে পরিসংখ্যান- প্রথম ও দ্বিতীয় পত্র" বইদুটি প্রকাশিত হলো। জ্ঞান এক অসীম সমুদ্র আর পরিসংখ্যান সেই সমুদ্রের এক গুরুত্বপূর্ণ তরঙ্গ-যার ছোঁয়ায় তথ্য পায় অর্থপূর্ণ ও পূর্ণাঙ্গ রূপ আর অগোছালো সংখ্যা পায় নতুন জীবন। বর্তমান যুগ তথ্যের যুগ। পরিসংখ্যান বিজ্ঞানের অন্যতম শাখা।

পরিসংখ্যান গবেষণার ভাষা। জ্ঞান-বিজ্ঞানের সর্বক্ষেত্রে পরিসংখ্যানিক জ্ঞান ও এর প্রয়োগ সর্বজন স্বীকৃত ও অনস্বীকার্য। রাষ্ট্রীয়, সামাজিক ও অর্থনৈতিক বিষয়াদি বিশ্লেষণ ও ব্যাখ্যা প্রদান ছাড়াও আধুনিক পরিসংখ্যানের ব্যবহার বিজ্ঞান, শিল্প, বাণিজ্য, কৃষি, তথ্য ও প্রযুক্তিসহ সকল গবেষণায় অত্যন্ত ব্যাপক। এছাড়া পরিসংখ্যানের ব্যাপক ও সঠিক প্রয়োগ ছাড়া অনেক বিষয়েই উচ্চতর শিক্ষা লাভ ও গবেষণা কার্যক্রম পরিচালনা প্রায় অসম্ভব। প্রাথমিক স্তর থেকে শুরু করে স্নাতক ও স্নাতকোত্তর পর্যায়ে বিষয়টি পাঠ্যক্রমের অন্তর্ভুক্ত থাকলেও কার্যত এ বিষয়টি কাঙ্খিত ব্যাপকতা লাভ করতে পারেনি।

বর্তমানে অনেক শিক্ষার্থীর নিকট পরিসংখ্যান এক ভয়ের নাম। সংখ্যার জটিলতা ও সূত্রের ভারে তারা প্রায়ই দিশেহারা হয়ে পড়ে। সেই ভয়কে জয় করার জন্য এবং সহজতার আলোর পথে নিয়ে আসার জন্য আমার ক্ষুদ্র প্রয়াস হিসেবে" এক নজরে পরিসংখ্যান- প্রথম ও দ্বিতীয় পত্র" বইদুটি প্রকাশ করলাম।

বই দুটিতে আমি চেষ্টা করেছি অল্প কথায় কঠিন বিষয়গুলোকে সহজভাবে উপস্থাপন করতে, যেন সকল মেধার ছাত্র-ছাত্রী এবং পরিসংখ্যানে আগ্রহীরা সহজেই পরিসংখ্যানের জ্ঞান আয়ত্ত করতে পারেন এবং সেই সাথে ক্রমান্বয়ে পরিসংখ্যান বিষয়কে ভালোবাসতে পারেন।

আমার এই ক্ষুদ্র প্রয়াসে আমি কৃতজ্ঞ তাঁদের প্রতি, যাঁরা সর্বদা অনুপ্রেরণা, সহযোগিতা ও ভালোবাসা দিয়ে পথ দেখিয়েছেন। জ্ঞান হোক সহজ, শিক্ষা হোক আনন্দময়" এই প্রত্যাশাই কামনা করছি সকল মেধার শিক্ষার্থী ও জ্ঞানান্বেষীদের নিকট।

পরিশেষে, আমি শিক্ষার্থীদের প্রতি লক্ষ্য রেখেই এক নজরে পরিসংখ্যান- প্রথম ও দ্বিতীয় পত্র" বইদুটি সহজ, সরল ও সাবলীল প্রকাশভঙ্গিতে ব্যাপকতা ও উপযোগিতা রক্ষা করে প্রকাশে উদ্যোগি হয়েছি। যথাসাধ্য চেষ্টা করেছি বইদুটি নির্ভুল করার জন্য। যদি সামান্য ত্রুটি থেকে থাকে, তবে তা আমার অবচেতনে ঘটেছে, যার জন্য আমি ক্ষমাপ্রার্থী। বইদুটির পূর্ণতায় উত্তীর্ণ হওয়ার সাথে সুধিবৃন্দের যে কোনো গঠনমূলক পরামর্শ শ্রদ্ধার সঙ্গে গ্রহণ করবো।
