As the new militant outfit Jama’atul Ansar gives rise to terror in Sylhet, the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police is trying to find if it is related to Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami.

At a press conference in Dhaka on Thursday, CTTC chief Md Asaduzzaman says, “We have information that the chief coordinator of this new militant organization in Sylhet, Dr.Rafat, is the son of a Jamaat ameer. In the investigation, he will be asked if his father instructed him to form this organization.”

🗳 Sheikh Rahman and Nabilah Islam; as Georgia state senators; Connecticut state senator Md Masudur Rahman, and New Hampshire house representative Aboul Khan are the Bangladeshi origin winners.

Among them, Sheikh Rahman won unopposed for the third time in Georgia. On the other hand, Nabilah; as Georgia State Senator; and Rahman; as the Connecticut State Senator were elected for the first time. They were from Biden’s democratic party.

But Aboul Khan was a Republican candidate and won the New Hampshire House Representative for the fifth time in a row.

Palmer Luckey, the creator of Oculus, has created a virtual reality headset that intentionally kills people. Named ‘NerveGear’, the system aims to closely tie people’s virtual life to their real one – by bringing them both to an end at the same time.

If someone dies in a virtual reality game or experience while wearing the headset, then they will be killed in real life at the same time, Mr Luckey said.

About 64% of critically-ill dengue patients have died this year within three days of hospitalisation, according to the health directorate.

With the latest addition, this year's dengue cases and casualties became the second highest since 2000 when the government formally started keeping records on dengue.

In 2000, 5551 dengue cases and 93 deaths were registered.
