As we grow older, we begin to realise just how much we need Allah in every part of our lives.

Musa عليه السلام, despite being a Prophet of Allah, still made the du‘a:

رَبِّ ٱشْرَحْ لِي صَدْرِي ۝ وَيَسِّرْ لِي أَمْرِي

“My Lord, expand for me my chest, and make my task easy for me.” Qur’an 20:25–26

Our strength, intelligence and planning can only take us so far. True ease comes from Allah.

Sometimes we don’t need a long explanation for our pain… we just need to know Who we can take it to. 😭

Prophet Ayyub عليه السلام had been tested with immense hardship. Yet when he turned to Allah, he did not complain about Allah’s decree. He simply said:

“My Lord, pain has touched me, and You are the Most Merciful of the merciful.”
(Qur’an 21:83)

And Allah answered him.

Maybe you’re tired too.
Tired of waiting.
Tired of pretending you’re okay.
Tired of wondering “When will my life finally get better?”
Maybe you’re carrying pain that nobody even knows about.

Then remember Ayyub عليه السلام.

Your pain does not mean Allah has forgotten you. Sometimes the test is long, but Allah’s mercy is never absent.

So when you don’t know what to say anymore, just sit with this dua. Say it in your sujood. Say it when your heart feels heavy. Say it when you have no words left.

رَبِّ أَنِّي مَسَّنِيَ الضُّرُّ وَأَنتَ أَرْحَمُ الرَّاحِمِينَ

“My Lord, pain has touched me, and You are the Most Merciful of the merciful.”

You don’t have to understand how Allah will fix it. Just keep turning back to the One who can. 🤍

You say "I believe." 🤲🏼

And just like that, you assume the hard part is over.

But belief was never the finish line,
it was always the starting gun.

The moment those words leave your mouth, something shifts.
Money starts calling in ways it didn't before.
Old desires resurface with new excuses.
Distractions show up dressed as "just this once."
Doubts creep in quietly, asking questions you thought you'd already answered.

None of that means something's wrong with you. It means you're being tested, which is exactly what was promised.

Feeling pulled in different directions isn't failure.
It's just what being human feels like the second you commit to something real.

So when it happens, don't panic and don't disappear into guilt. Just come back.
One dua, one deep breath, one small step in the right direction is enough to start again. 🤍

We all sin. We all fall short. There are times when we disappoint ourselves so deeply that we begin to think we have gone too far. We may look at our past and wonder how Allah could still accept us after everything we have done. But this hadith teaches us not to look at Allah through the lens of our own despair.

Allah tells us that His mercy preceded His anger. This does not mean that Allah’s punishment is not real, nor does it mean that sin does not matter. It means that the door of mercy is never something we should quickly assume is closed.

A person may spend years far from Allah, yet one sincere return can change everything. Do not let your sins make you believe that you are no longer welcome with Him.

You may have delayed repentance, fallen into the same sin again and again, or feel ashamed of who you have become. But Allah knows your weakness, your hidden struggles, and every time your heart wanted to return. So return. Not because you deserve His mercy but because He is the Most Merciful.
