So, let’s dive deep into this,
Choosing a skill can feel daunting because it’s hard to connect with any options available today.
You might sometimes think, "Is this the right skill for me, or is that one better?" This can lead to a lot of confusion and indecision.
But don’t worry—I’m here to help!
To make it easy for you,
I’ll break digital skills into two categories:
Programming Skills
Non-programming Skills
The first step is to decide whether or not you enjoy programming.
This is crucial, my friend, because if you love programming,
your career journey will take one path...
AND if you don’t,
it will take another.
Start by searching “What is a programming language?” on the web, and then take a short beginner course.
Afterwards, decide whether you want to continue with it.
If you find that you enjoy programming, there are many opportunities for you to explore, such as:
Web development
App development
Software development
Game development
Data Science
AI
Machine learning
My suggestion:
Start with web development—it’s often easier to grasp at first and offers a solid foundation for other areas.
Remember, no skill is easy to MASTER.
There will be times when things feel tough.
But TRUST ME,
every skill has its challenges, and it’s normal to feel stuck at some point.
Just keep PUSHING through!
Now, let’s talk about the other path—what if you don’t like programming?
No worries! There are plenty of non-programming skills you can learn.
Here are some popular non-programming skills to consider:
Digital Marketing
Content Writing
Video Editing
Graphic Design
Each of these fields has many sub-skills as well. I highly recommend searching for these topics on YouTube to get a clearer idea.
Here are some example searches you can try:
“What is [skill]?”
“What specializations are available in [skill]?”
By asking these questions, you’ll gain a solid understanding of each skill.
BONUS TIP:
If you’re interested in more than one skill, assess them based on:
Your time availability
Your environment
The capabilities of your PC or laptop
