সুপ্রিয় দর্শকমন্ডলী, আজ আমি আপনাদের সামনে ভারাক্রান্ত হৃদয়ে উপস্থিত হয়েছি। মাইলস্টোন স্কুল ট্রাজিডি এই শোক এখনও আমাকে, আমাদেরকে ঘিরে রেখেছে। ২১শে জুলাই দূর্ঘটনার মূহুর্তে আমি আমার কর্মস্থল উত্তরা আধুনিক মেডিকেল কলেজ হাসপাতালে উপস্থিত ছিলাম। এবং হাসপাতালে আসা প্রথম দগ্ধ শিশুটিকে দেখে আমি ক্ষনিকের জন্য হতবিহ্বল ও নির্বাক হয়ে গিয়েছিলাম। মূহুর্তেই নিজেকে সামলে নিয়ে আমার সহকর্মী, ইন্টার্নী, শিক্ষার্থী, সিস্টার, ব্রাদার, ওর্য়াডবয়, আয়া সকলকে নিয়ে আমাদের সর্বোচ্চটুকু দিয়ে বার্নের প্রাথমিক ম্যানেজমেন্ট করে দগ্ধ শিশুদেরকে বিশেষায়িত বার্ন হাসাপাতালে পাঠানোর ব্যবস্থা করা হয়। আমাদের হাসপাতাল ছাড়াও আরো অনেক হাসপাতাল থেকে শিশু, শিক্ষক ও অভিভাবকরা বার্ন হাসপাতালগুলোতে চিকিৎসা নিচ্ছেন। ইতিমধ্যে অনেক নিষ্পাপ প্রান অকালে ঝরে গেছে। সৃষ্টিকর্তার কাছে তাদের বিদেহী আত্মার শান্তি কামনা করছি। আর যেসকল দগ্ধ শিশু, শিক্ষক, অভিভাবকগন এখনও চিকিৎসা নিচ্ছেন তাদের দ্রুত আরোগ্য কামনা করছি।
বার্নের একটা পরবর্তী ইফেক্ট হচ্ছে - Burn contracture.

Today, I stand before you with a heart full of sorrow. The grief of the Milestone School tragedy still surrounds and deeply weighs upon me — upon all of us.
On the 21st of July, at the very moment of the incident, I was present at my workplace — Uttara Adhunik Medical College Hospital. When I saw the first burned child brought into the hospital, I was momentarily so shocked and overwhelmed that I became speechless.
Within moments, I composed myself and, along with my colleagues, interns, students, nurses, brothers, ward boys, and attendants, we did our utmost to provide the initial management for the burn victims. We then arranged to transfer the burned children to specialized burn hospitals.
In addition to our hospital, many other hospitals are also treating injured children, teachers, and guardians. Tragically, many innocent lives have already been lost far too soon.
I pray to the Almighty for eternal peace of their departed souls. I also pray for the swift recovery of all the injured children, teachers, and guardians who are still undergoing treatment.
One of the long-term effects of burns is known as burn contracture.
Though I am an orthopedic surgeon, I am also trained in plastic, hand, and microvascular surgery.
