দিন 2: কুর্গ থেকে চিকমাগালুর

ঐতিহাসিক স্মৃতি বিজড়িত এই বাড়িটির কি অপরাধ??? উল্লেখ্য, বিশ্ববরেন্য কিংবদন্তী চলচ্চিত্রকার সত্যজিৎ রায়ের বাংলাদেশের পৈতৃক বাড়িটি ভেঙে গুড়িয়ে দেয়া হয়েছে!

প্রসঙ্গত, ময়মনসিংহ শহরের ঐতিহাসিক হরিকিশোর রায়ের প্রায় ২০০ বছরের পুরোনো বাড়িটি ভেঙে ফেলা হচ্ছে। ভবনটি ভেঙে সেখানে নতুন ভবন নির্মাণের উদ্যোগ নিয়েছে বাংলাদেশ শিশু একাডেমি। হরিকিশোর রায় ছিলেন কিশোরগঞ্জ জেলার কটিয়াদী উপজেলার মসূয়া জমিদারবাড়ির জমিদার। তিনি উপেন্দ্রকিশোর রায়চৌধুরী, সুকুমার রায় ও সত্যজিৎ রায়ের পূর্বপুরুষ। এখনও সেখানে একটি রাস্তার নাম হরিকিশোর রায় রোড ।

জানা যায়, উপেন্দ্রকিশোর মাত্র পাঁচ বছর বয়সে তার পিতা কালীনাথ রায়ের জ্ঞাতিভাই হরিকিশোর রায়ের কাছে দত্তক হিসেবে আসেন। হরিকিশোরের স্নেহ-ভালোবাসায় উপেন্দ্র কিশোরের শিক্ষাজীবন শুরু হয় এবং তিনি ময়মনসিংহ জিলা স্কুল থেকে ১৮৮০ সালে বৃত্তি নিয়ে প্রবেশিকা পরীক্ষায় উত্তীর্ণ হন।

যেকোনো ঐতিহাসিক স্থাপনা, প্রত্নতত্ত্ব নিদর্শন একটি দেশের ইতিহাস, ঐতিহ্য ও সংস্কৃতির পরিচয় বহন করে। এটা দেশের একটি দর্শনীয় স্থান হিসেবে স্বীকৃত! এই বাড়িটি যদি না থাকে তাহলে এখানে গিয়ে সাধারণ জনগণ ইতিহাস সম্পর্কে কি কিছু জানতে, দেখতে, বুঝতে পারবে? এই ভাঙা দৃশ্য দেখে কোন কিছু লেখা বা বলার ভাষা নেই.....
