If you look at the left side, it represents South Asia—the Indian subcontinent. You can see a lot of clouds gathered there. These clouds usually come from the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea. When they hit the massive wall of the Himalayas, they can’t move further, so they release rain across the region. That’s why this side of the map looks so green and full of life, covered with clouds and fertile land (though the river patterns aren’t perfectly accurate).

Now, if you shift your focus to the right side, you’ll notice a completely different picture. It shows the dry and harsh Tibetan Plateau. Cold winds from Siberia try to enter the subcontinent from this direction, but the Himalayas block them and push them back. Because of that, you don’t see clouds on this side. However, the lakes visible there come from melting Himalayan ice.

And if you take a closer look at the Himalayas themselves, there’s a clear contrast—the left side is covered with lush green mountains, often called Himalayan rainforests, while the right side is mostly snow-covered peaks.
