Togoland in World War I – Germany’s First Colony to Fall 🌍⚔️

At the very start of World War I, the German colony of Togoland became one of the first battlegrounds outside Europe. Surrounded by British and French territories, it was highly vulnerable when war broke out.
In August 1914, forces from the United Kingdom and France quickly invaded Togoland. Despite some resistance—especially around the important Kamina wireless station—German forces surrendered within weeks.
