🎬 𝗧𝗢𝗫𝗜𝗖 — 𝗔 𝗕𝗲𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗠𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻
গতকাল রাতে Toxic দেখলাম।
And honestly, I walked out with one thought—
“It looked expensive… but did it have a story?”
প্রথম half-এ আমি genuinely interested ছিলাম।
Yash-এর character, তার childhood, Ganga-র সঙ্গে তার relationship, gangster world, loyalty, rivalry—সবকিছু মিলিয়ে একটা dark, intense story-এর খুব সুন্দর foundation তৈরি হয়েছিল।
তারপর Nadia আসে।
Love story আসে।
Violence আসে।
Betrayal আসে।
Pregnancy আসে।
Revenge আসে।
আমি তখনও ভাবছি—
Okay. There’s something here.
কিন্তু second half-এ এসে গল্পটা যেন নিজের identity হারিয়ে ফেলল।
Circus.
A child.
Bomb blast.
Death.
Trauma.
Delusion.
Split personality.
Monaco.
Casino.
Another relationship.
Another pregnancy.
At some point I stopped asking “What happens next?”
and started asking—
“Why is this happening?”
আর সেটাই আমার biggest problem with Toxic।
একটা বড় বাজেটের সিনেমা visually impressive হতে পারে।
একজন actor screen presence-এ অসাধারণ হতে পারেন।
একটা character incredibly powerful হতে পারে।
But none of that automatically creates a good story.
Yash-এর character-কে দেখানো হয়েছে extremely powerful, dangerous and emotionally damaged হিসেবে।
কিন্তু আমি তার emotional journey-টা feel করিনি।
তার pain দেখেছি।
তার anger দেখেছি।
তার violence দেখেছি।
কিন্তু তার ভিতরের মানুষটাকে খুব একটা দেখিনি।
And for me, that's where the character falls short.
আর second half-এর কিছু ঘটনা এতটাই disconnected লেগেছে যে আমি emotional হওয়ার বদলে logical questions করতে শুরু করেছি।
একজন বাবা নিজের সন্তানকে খুঁজবে না কেন?
তার জীবনে কী হচ্ছে সেটা জানবে না কেন?
তারপর হঠাৎ নিজের সন্তানকে এমনভাবে হারিয়ে ফেলবে কেন?
এই transitions-গুলোর emotional foundation আমার কাছে convincing ছিল না।
আর একটা জিনিস—
S*x + violence + blood + screaming ≠ depth.
Maturity doesn't come from showing more skin.
Intensity doesn't come from killing more people.
Sometimes, the most powerful thing a movie can do is simply tell a good story.
Toxic অনেক কিছু দেখাতে চেয়েছে।
Gangster drama হতে চেয়েছে।
Love story হতে চেয়েছে।
Psychological drama হতে চেয়েছে।
Tragedy হতে চেয়েছে।
কিন্তু আমার কাছে শেষ পর্যন্ত—
It became a little bit of everything, and not enough of anything.
Visuals? Beautiful.
Scale? Impressive.
Production? Clearly massive.
But storytelling?
That’s where I felt the luxury ended. 🙂
Animal দেখার পরও আমার এমন একটা reaction হয়েছিল।
কিন্তু personally, Toxic আমাকে তার থেকেও বেশি disconnected লেগেছে।
হয়তো আমি old-fashioned।
কিন্তু আমার কাছে একটা movie-তে
beautiful visuals-এর পাশাপাশি beautiful storytelling-ও দরকার।
আমি এমন গল্প পছন্দ করি যেটা cinema hall থেকে বের হওয়ার পরও মাথায় থাকে।
Toxic আমাকে গল্পটা মনে রাখতে দেয়নি—
কারণ আমি গল্পটাই খুঁজে পাইনি।
⭐ Visuals — 8/10
⭐ Screen presence — 8/10
⭐ Story — 3/10
⭐ Character development — 3/10
⭐ Logic — 2/10
⭐ Overall — 3.5/10
And finally…
The movie is called Toxic.
Perhaps the title was the most well-written part of the screenplay. 🙂🖤
