নেত্রকোনার কলমাকান্দা উপজেলায় এক গৃহবধূকে ধর্ষণের অভিযোগে আনোয়ার শেখ (২৮) নামে এক যুবককে কারাগারে পাঠিয়েছেন আদালত।
A Netrokona court yesterday sent a man to jail on charges of ra**ng a woman in Kalmakanda upazila on July 22.
গতকাল (রোববার) দুপুর ২টা ৩০ মিনিটে আদালতে হাজির করার পর বিচারক তাকে কারাগারে পাঠানোর আদেশ দেন বলে জানিয়েছেন আদালতের পরিদর্শক মো. মফিজ উদ্দিন শেখ।
The accused, Anwar Sheikh, 28, was produced before the magistrate at around 2:30pm, said Court Inspector Md Mofiz Uddin Sheikh.
আসামি আনোয়ার শেখ কলমাকান্দা উপজেলার বড়খাপন ইউনিয়নের বাসিন্দা।
He is a resident of Barkhapon union in the upazila.
এর আগে ধর্ষণের অভিযোগে কলমাকান্দা থানায় দায়ের করা মামলায় পুলিশ তাকে গ্রেপ্তার করে।
Earlier, Kalmakanda police arrested him in a r**e case filed with the police.
পুলিশ ও ভুক্তভোগী গৃহবধূর পরিবারের বরাতে জানা গেছে, আনোয়ার শেখ ভুক্তভোগীর বাড়ির পাশেই একটি ভাড়া বাসায় পরিবারের সঙ্গে বসবাস করতেন।
According to police and the victim's family, the accused lived with his family in a rented house next to the victim's house.
গত মঙ্গলবার (২২ জুলাই) দুপুর ১২টা ৩০ মিনিটের দিকে ভুক্তভোগীর পরিবারের অন্য সদস্যরা বাড়িতে না থাকায় আনোয়ার শেখ অস্ত্রের ভয় দেখিয়ে গৃহবধূকে ধর্ষণ করে এবং ঘটনা কাউকে জানালে হত্যা করার হুমকি দেয়।
On Tuesday, around 12:30pm, when other members of the victim's family were not at home, Anwar allegedly threatened her at gunpoint and r**ed her. He also threatened to kill her if she told anyone.
পরে ওই গৃহবধূ বিষয়টি পরিবারকে জানান। ঘটনাটি এলাকায় ছড়িয়ে পড়লে ক্ষুব্ধ স্থানীয়রা আনোয়ারকে খুঁজতে থাকেন।
The housewife later informed her family, and as the news spread in the locality, angry locals started looking for Anwar.
কয়েকদিন গা-ঢাকা দিয়ে থাকার পর গত শনিবার বিকেলে কলমাকান্দা সাব-রেজিস্ট্রি অফিসের পাশে তাকে দেখতে পান স্থানীয়রা।
After going into hiding for a few days, Anwar was spotted on Saturday afternoon near the sub-registry office.
পরে তাকে আটক করে পুলিশে খবর দিলে পুলিশ ঘটনাস্থলে গিয়ে তাকে গ্রেপ্তার করে।
Locals detained him and informed the police, who then took him into custody.
পরে ভুক্তভোগী নারী ‘নারী ও শিশু নির্যাতন দমন আইন, ২০০০’-এর অধীনে কলমাকান্দা থানায় একটি মামলা করেন।
The victim later filed a case under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act, 2000 with the Kalmakanda Police Station.
পুলিশ ওই মামলায় আনোয়ার শেখকে গ্রেপ্তার দেখায়।
After that, police showed Anwar Sheikh as arrested in the case.
কলমাকান্দা থানার ভারপ্রাপ্ত কর্মকর্তা (ওসি) মোহাম্মদ লুৎফুর রহমান বলেন, “ধর্ষণের ঘটনায় রাতে মামলা হয়েছে।
Kalmakanda Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mohammad Lutfor Rahman said, "A case was filed last night regarding the r**e.
পরে আসামিকে গ্রেপ্তার দেখিয়ে আদালতে পাঠানো হলে আদালত তাকে কারাগারে পাঠানোর আদেশ দেন।”
After showing the accused as arrested in the case, he was produced before the court today, and the court ordered him to be sent to jail."
