**সাংগ্রাইং** হলো বাংলাদেশে বসবাসরত মারমা ও রাখাইন জনগোষ্ঠীর সবচেয়ে বড় ও আনন্দমুখর উৎসব। এটি মূলত তাদের ঐতিহ্যবাহী নববর্ষ উৎসব, যা সাধারণত এপ্রিল মাসে পালিত হয় এবং নতুন বছরকে স্বাগত জানানোর প্রতীক।
এই উৎসবের সবচেয়ে আকর্ষণীয় অংশ হলো **পানি খেলা (Water Festival)**। সবাই একে অপরকে পানি ছিটিয়ে আনন্দ করে—এটি পুরোনো দুঃখ-কষ্ট মুছে ফেলে নতুন বছরকে পবিত্রভাবে শুরু করার প্রতীক। তরুণ-তরুণী থেকে শুরু করে সব বয়সের মানুষ এতে অংশ নেয়।
সাংগ্রাইং শুধু আনন্দের উৎসব নয়, এর সাথে জড়িয়ে আছে সংস্কৃতি ও আধ্যাত্মিকতা। মানুষ এই সময় বুদ্ধ মূর্তি ধৌত করে, দান-ধ্যান করে, এবং বয়োজ্যেষ্ঠদের প্রতি সম্মান প্রদর্শন করে। ঘরে ঘরে তৈরি হয় ঐতিহ্যবাহী খাবার, আর সবাই নতুন পোশাক পরে উৎসবে অংশ নেয়।
Sangrain is the largest and most joyful festival of the Marma and Rakhine communities living in Bangladesh. It is essentially their traditional New Year celebration, usually observed in April, symbolizing the welcoming of a new year.
The most attractive part of this festival is the Water Festival. People splash water on each other and celebrate with great enjoy, this act symbolizes washing away past sorrows and starting the new year with purity. People of all ages, from young to old, take part in it.
Sangrain is not only a festival of joy; it is also deeply connected with culture and spirituality. During this time, people wash Buddha statues, engage in charity and prayers, and show respect to elders. Traditional foods are prepared in every household, and everyone wears new clothes to take part in the celebration.
