Iran's parliament approves 20-year strategic agreement with Russia.

Iran's parliament has approved a 20-year strategic partnership agreement with Russia, amid rising tensions with the United States over its nuclear program.

The agreement was approved by 191 votes out of 212 members of parliament present, with eight voting against and three abstaining, IRNA news agency reported.

The agreement was signed with Russian President Vladimir Putin during Iranian President Masoud Peshmerga's visit to Moscow in January and was approved by the State Duma, the lower house of Russia's Federal Assembly, last month.

Iranian President Masoud Pjeshkian signed the agreement with Russian President Vladimir Putin during a visit to Moscow.

Putin called the agreement a “groundbreaking document.” Pezeshkian, on the other hand, said it would “open a new chapter in relations.” Analysts believe the agreement has further consolidated the close ties between the two countries.

Both Russia and Iran are under Western sanctions and are increasingly coordinating their diplomatic and economic policies.

Iran has held four rounds of talks with the United States in search of a new deal to address Western concerns over its nuclear program. Both sides have agreed to continue talks, but no date or location has been set for the next round.

US will not accept Iran's 1 percent uranium enrichment: Witkoff.

US special envoy Steve Witkoff said on Sunday that any agreement between the US and Iran must include a ban on uranium enrichment, a comment that has drawn criticism from Iran.

Witkoff reiterated US President Donald Trump's position on uranium enrichment. However, Iran's response shows that the two sides still have a long way to go to reach an agreement on their nuclear program.

"We have a clear redline, and that is enrichment. We cannot even accept a 1 percent enrichment capability," Witkoff said in an interview aired on ABC's "This Week."

Tehran immediately responded to Wittkoff's comments. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said yesterday that "unrealistic expectations are what stop negotiations," according to a report by Iran's semi-official Tasnim news agency. "It is not possible to stop enrichment in Iran. I think he (Wittkoff) is completely out of touch with the reality of the negotiations." The minister also mentioned that the uranium enrichment program will continue.

Witkoff said he was optimistic about the nuclear talks with Iran and that he expected them to resume in Europe this week. "We hope it will actually yield some positive results," he added.

Rumor has it that Jordan warned the US not to assassinate Syrian President Sharaa.

Jordan's King Abdullah II warned the United States not to assassinate Syria's new president, Ahmed al-Sharaa, ahead of Sharaa's meeting with Trump last week, a US senator said on Thursday.

The hostility of a section of the Trump administration towards Shara is evident from the statement made by Democratic Senator Jeanne Shaheen. Her tone of voice also supports a statement made by Trump. After meeting with Shara last Wednesday (May 14), Trump said, Foreign leaders have directly urged him to give Shara a chance, but his own advisors are skeptical.

"I have heard some rumors in some quarters of the administration's foreign policy that I am concerned about... there was an alternative proposal to assassinate Syria's new leader, Ahmed al-Sharaa," said Gene Shaheen at a Senate hearing last Thursday.

Shaheen said that Jordan's King Abdullah II warned Ahmed Al-Shara about the alleged plan to assassinate him after learning about it.

Senator Shaheen added, "King Abdullah told us that such a leadership change could prevent a full-blown civil war in Syria. And that would not be good for the opportunity that the country has at this moment to move forward."

Israel is burning, Palestinian Authority offers help.

Israel is facing the worst wildfires in its history. Thousands of acres of land have been burned in the country. People in large areas have been evacuated. International assistance has even been https://shorturl.at/v7mko sought to deal with the situation. The Palestinian Authority has offered assistance in such a situation.

The report said the Palestinian Authority has offered to help control the wildfires spreading in the Jerusalem area. A security source told the Times of Israel that they have offered to send a fire service team to Israel.

Israel has not yet officially responded to the proposal. However, this is not the first time that the Palestinian Authority has helped Israel by sending its fire service teams during major fires in the past.

Earlier, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz called for the deployment of the army in response to the devastating wildfires in the Jerusalem hills. He requested IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir to immediately deploy military forces to help control the fires.

"We are now in a national emergency. All available forces must be mobilized to save lives and bring the fire under control," said a statement from Katz's office.

US warplane worth 7.26 billion taka sinks in the sea while trying to escape Houthi attack.

A US Navy F/A-18 Super Hornet fighter jet has crashed into the sea after being launched from the USS Harry S. Truman, the Navy said in a statement on Monday. The fighter jet, which is worth more than $60 million (Bangladeshi Taka 7.26 billion), has been lost.

A US official said initial reports indicated the warship made a sharp turn to avoid a missile fired by Yemen's Houthi rebels, causing the plane to fall into the sea.

Houthi rebels yesterday claimed to have launched drone and missile attacks on the aircraft carrier USS Truman, which is currently in the Red Sea to take part in a major US operation against them.

The Navy said in a statement that one sailor was slightly injured in the incident. The F/A-18 was being towed to the warship's aircraft carrier. At that time, the crew lost control of the aircraft. As a result, both the aircraft and the tractor used to tow it fell into the sea.

The statement added that the crew involved in the evacuation of the fighter jet took immediate action to extricate the aircraft before it fell into the sea. The incident is being investigated.

China involved in Pahalgam attack! Terrorists had Chinese satellite phones, intelligence sources say After the Pahalgam attack, almost the entire world, including America and Russia, stood by India. However, China supported Pakistan.

Chinese involvement in Pahalgam attack! This is the claim of the Central Intelligence Agency. It is learnt that the terrorists used a Chinese messaging app to communicate with their handlers in Pakistan. Not only that, they also found the presence of a Chinese satellite phone in Pahalgam on the day of the attack.

Technology experts say that Chinese messaging apps are protected with very strong encryption. All these apps were banned in India after the Galwan clash in 2020. Currently, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) is investigating both the Chinese satellite phone and the messaging app.

After the Pahalgam attack, almost the entire world, including America and Russia, has stood by India. However, China has supported Pakistan. Although the talk of the 'elephant-dragon dance' was talked about a few days ago, international political experts believe that it was just lip service.

Immediately after the attack, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi called Pakistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar. He expressed concern about the India-Pakistan tensions. He also demanded an impartial investigation into the attack, echoing Shehbaz Sharif's sentiments.

Beijing seizes islands in the South China Sea.

The Chinese coast guard has seized a small reef in the South China Sea, Chinese state media reported, in a move that could further escalate Beijing's territorial dispute with the Philippines.

The British media outlet BBC reported this information in a report on Monday (April 28).

The media outlet says that China's state television CCTV recently released a photo showing four Chinese coast guard members dressed in black flying the Chinese national flag on the disputed Sandy Cay in the Spratly Islands.

CCTV reported that China had “effectively exercised maritime control” and “exercised sovereign authority” in the region in early April.

China and the Philippines, both of which have claims to islands and waters in the South China Sea, including the Spratly Islands, responded on Sunday by announcing that the Philippines had planted its flag on three reefs and releasing photos of its forces, mirroring China's.

However, it is still not certain which of the three reefs that Philippine forces reached was Sandy. The Philippines' National Task Force West Philippine Sea said in a statement that it had spotted a Chinese coast guard ship and seven Chinese militia vessels near a reef, calling the situation an "illegal Chinese presence."

"This operation is a testament to our country's commitment and determination to defend its sovereignty, sovereign rights, and authority," the statement said.
