Participation of Amateur Radio Club Khulna Bangladesh, in the implementation of the 68th Jamboree on the Air (JOTA) and 29th Jamboree on the Internet (JOTI) at the invitation of Khulna District Sea Scouts.
17-19 October 2025 JOTA-JOTI, one of the largest events of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM), was held simultaneously all over the world. In continuation of this, Bangladesh Scouts and all its Regions, Districts, and Upazilas celebrated JOTA-JOTI. Since JOTA-JOTI and Amateur Radio are closely related, many Scout units have invited Amateur Radio Operators to cooperate in the implementation of JOTA-JOTI. Again, many Amateur Radio Operators are involved in Scouting, they have cooperated in the implementation of JOTA-JOTI in their respective units.
Several members of the Amateur Radio Club Khulna Bangladesh, are involved with Sea Scouts. They were invited by Khulna District Sea Scouts to assist in the implementation of JOTA-JOTI. In response to that, A delegation of the Amateur Radio Club Khulna Bangladesh, visited Khulna District Sea Scouts' den on 17th October to assist in the implementation of JOTA-JOTI. The team consisted of S21CMD, S21 AKL, S21max, and S21BAD, led by S21KL.
200+ members participated from Khulna District Sea Scouts, including Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Rover Scouts, Adult Leaders, District Secretary (Navy), and Regional Deputy Commissioner (Training), Sea Region.
The inauguration of JOTA-JOTI was announced by the Chief National Commissioner, Bangladesh Scouts, from the National Headquarters. During this, he exchanged greetings with Amateur Radio Operator Scouts of several units over the radio using the Amateur Radio Club Callsign S21SHQ of Bangladesh Scouts. At this time, S21CMD (PS, CDS; Vice President, ARCKB), as a representative of Khulna District Sea Scouts, first exchanged greetings with the Chief National Commissioner, Bangladesh Scouts, which was broadcast live on Facebook Live. Later, S21KL (Wood Badger, Unit Leader; President, ARCKB) conducted a session about JOTA-JOTI for all those present. S21AKL (Assistant Unit Leader; General Secretary, ARCKB) and S21MAX (Wood Badger, Unit Leader; EC Member, ARCKB) gave detailed ideas on how to participate in JOTA-JOTI online, how to stay safe online, how to communicate on radio, how to communicate on radio during disasters, including Amateur Radio Digital mode operation. Also, those who are not registered on scout.org and JOTA-JOTI were assisted to do so.
Later, they were divided into 5 stations and made eyeball and nationwide QSOs. At this time, S21ALT (Assistant Leader Trainer), S21IT (Wood Badger), S21JSR (Wood Badger) spontaneously exchanged greetings with the scouts.
The first day of JOTA-JOTI ended with various activities throughout the day. Khulna District Sea Scouts appreciated the activities of the Amateur Radio Club Khulna Bangladesh, and expressed their desire to involve them in Amateur Radio activities in the future as well.
