My two-cents on NSU Cybernauts 2026:
I've personally had better LAN experience in 2014, despite constant electricity issues back in the day.
After participating in almost all of the Cybernauts that were hosted throughout the years (think I only missed one and won several), I could most definitely confirm that this is not even 1% up to the standard that was expected.
There were multiple players that came to this LAN event from out of Dhaka only to leave without playing a single match - not just that but there are several players that had to make sacrifices from their job, classes, coaching, events, etc to make time for this event which ended up leaving many disappointed and frustrated.
Few issues that I personally completely despised:
* The announcement and scheduling prior to the LAN event was extremely messy. There were also instances were my team voiced their concerns about the event being LAN and then 3 days worth of break for the next round of matches. (This could've been easily avoidable if they made Top 4 or 8 LAN, this would allow teams to come only for one day)
* Carnival net having troubles was not the fault of the organizers but it's crazy that in 2026 we are having internet troubles like this when even more than 10 years ago I would not see internet issues persisting throughout the entire tournament in this manner. (This could be resolved by running test matches before calling in players and teams to the event)
* Having to play in an open place in this HEAT is absolute madness and they only had ONE fan for each team.
* Forget the Valorant section of this Cybernauts but as far as I could tell they messed up in all the sectors
Rest of the inconveniences are acceptable but the ones mentioned above really stuck with me.
Few things they did well to resolve issues:
* Demonstrated an understanding of each team's timing concerns regarding the scheduled matches.
* Offered all the teams a refund of their registration fee that were promised to play the LAN event but couldn't due to the circumstances that were present
* Moved all the remaining games till grand finals to Online as the internet issues were not solvable at the time. (However, I think all the teams that were waiting to play their game for hours would've appreciated more if this was done earlier)
Despite all this, I do sincerely wish the admins and organizers all the best in trying to resolve all these issues and hoping for a better event in the future.
They did at the end of the day put their time and effort for us to have a good event but unfortunately it just didn't go as planned.
