Airflow (CFM) Calculation 🌬️📐
CFM (Cubic Feet per Minute) is the volume of air delivered by an HVAC system. It is one of the most important parameters for selecting fans, AHUs, FCUs, and duct sizes.
📘 Cooling Airflow Formula
CFM = Cooling Load (BTU/hr) ÷ (1.08 × ΔT)
Where:
🔹 Cooling Load = BTU/hr
🔹 ΔT = Supply Air Temperature Difference (°F)
🧮 Example
🔹 Cooling Load = 60,000 BTU/hr
🔹 Temperature Difference = 20°F
✅ CFM = 60,000 ÷ (1.08 × 20)
✅ CFM ≈ 2,778
📘 Metric Conversion
CFM = m³/h ÷ 1.699
🧮 Example
🔹 Airflow = 5,000 m³/h
✅ CFM = 5,000 ÷ 1.699 ≈ 2,943 CFM
