A truly unforgettable three-day workshop experience on how to preserve our intangible cultural heritage through writing.
As a representative of the Manipuri community, I was honored to participate in a three-day Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) and Storytelling Workshop, jointly organized by UNESCO Dhaka, Anubad and Ichcap .
Throughout the sessions, I had the opportunity to:
âś… Learn about safeguarding intangible cultural heritage,
âś… Develop my writing, storytelling, and translation skills,
âś… Connect with inspiring individuals from diverse linguistic communities across Bangladesh.
âś… Wearing our traditional attire and standing together in one frame was a powerful reminder of how beautiful and united our diversity can be.
My some more experiences:
This workshop helped me to realise the true power of stories. It reminded me that our traditional knowledge, our weaving, music, language, and clothing are not just cultural expressions—they are living heritage.
I particularly loved the group sharing sessions, where I could both learn from others and speak about the pride I feel in my Manipuri identity. It made me feel more connected—not just to my own roots, but to all the cultures represented in that room.
This experience not only enriched my knowledge but also deepened my connection to my roots and identity as a Manipuri.
Heartfelt thanks to UNESCO for organizing such a meaningful and inclusive initiative. đź’«
