বাংলাদেশের যুবসমাজ বর্তমানে এক বড় চ্যালেঞ্জের মুখোমুখি। দেশের ২৭% জনগণই ১৫–২৯ বছর বয়সী, কিন্তু ৩০.৯% যুবক NEET অর্থাৎ শিক্ষা, কর্মসংস্থান বা প্রশিক্ষণে নেই। এর মধ্যে পুরুষ ১১.১% এবং নারী ৪৯.৩%, এবং সর্বমোট বেকারত্ব ~৪.৬৩%। ছোটবেলার একটা উক্তি প্রায় মাথায় ঘুরে, “একটা দেশকে ধ্বংস করে দিতে চাইলে, তার মানুষকে অশিক্ষিত করে দাও।” দক্ষিণ কোরিয়ার উদাহরণ দেখুন—স্বাধীনতার পর তারা শিক্ষায় ও দক্ষতায় বিনিয়োগ করে মাত্র ৫০ বছরের মধ্যে প্রযুক্তি, উদ্ভাবন এবং সংস্কৃতিতে লিডার হয়ে উঠেছে। বাংলাদেশও একই পথে এগোতে পারে, যদি আমরা শিক্ষা, দক্ষতা ও যুব ক্ষমতায়নকে অগ্রাধিকার দিই।
