When you choose to open your home to a dog, you're not acquiring something for decoration or entertainment, but rather welcoming a soul that will give you its trust and loyalty unconditionally.

He will love you, wait for you, rejoice at your return, and may even be ready to stay by your side during your most difficult moments… So what will you offer him in return?

Responsibility isn't just about feeding him when everything is fine.

Responsibility is about taking care of him physically, emotionally, and spiritually; providing him with food, medicine, and shelter; attending to his health, his fears, and his sadness; and protecting him when he is weak and needs you.

True responsibility emerges when he grows older, becomes ill, or requires more care… So don't abandon him just because caring for him has become more difficult.

He offers you unconditional loyalty…
And you have made him a promise, even if you haven't said it in words:

"I will not abandon you when you need me." ❤️🐕
Don't take love and loyalty from a vulnerable creature, then run away when it's time to return the favor.

If you're not ready to take full responsibility for their life, don't start a relationship that will end with you abandoning them. 🐾💔
