A long time ago, in a small village, there lived a potter.
অনেক অনেক দিন আগে, একটি ছোট গ্রামে এক কুমোর বাস করতেন।
He was skilled in his craft and made beautiful clay pots.
তিনি তার কাজে খুব দক্ষ ছিলেন এবং সুন্দর সুন্দর মাটির হাঁড়ি বানাতেন।
It was the winter season.
তখন ছিল শীতের সময়।
One day, the potter made four large and beautiful pots.
একদিন কুমোরটি চারটি বড় ও সুন্দর হাঁড়ি বানালেন।
They were so elegant that anyone would stop and admire them.
হাঁড়িগুলো এতটাই সুন্দর ছিল যে যে-কেউ থেমে সেগুলো দেখে মুগ্ধ হতো।
But strangely, while all his other pots were sold, no one bought these four.
কিন্তু আশ্চর্যের বিষয়, তার বাকি সব হাঁড়ি বিক্রি হয়ে গেলেও এই চারটি কেউ কিনল না।
Days passed, and still no one showed interest in them.
দিনের পর দিন কেটে গেল, তবু কেউ সেগুলোর প্রতি আগ্রহ দেখাল না।
The four pots began to feel sad.
চারটি হাঁড়ি দুঃখ অনুভব করতে লাগল।
They started thinking they were useless, that they had no purpose.
তারা ভাবতে শুরু করল যে তারা অকেজো, তাদের কোনো কাজই নেই।
One day, when the potter wasn't around, the four pots began talking to each other to ease their loneliness.
একদিন কুমোরটি না থাকায়, একাকীত্ব দূর করতে চারটি হাঁড়ি একে অপরের সাথে কথা বলতে শুরু করল।
The first pot said, I wanted to become a beautiful statue.
প্রথম হাঁড়িটি বলল, আমি একটি সুন্দর মূর্তি হতে চেয়েছিলাম।
People would admire me in some rich man's house.
কোনো ধনী লোকের বাড়িতে মানুষ আমাকে দেখে প্রশংসা করত।
I would feel proud to be looked at with respect.

But look at me now.
কিন্তু এখন আমাকে দেখো।
Just a simple pot that no one even wants.
আমি তো এখন একটা সাধারণ হাঁড়ি, যেটা কেউই চায় না।
The second pot then spoke.
এরপর দ্বিতীয় হাঁড়িটি কথা বলল।
My luck is bad too.
আমার ভাগ্যও খারাপ।
I wanted to become a lamp to shine brightly in someone's home, spreading light everywhere.
আমি চেয়েছিলাম কারো ঘরে উজ্জ্বল আলো ছড়ানো একটি প্রদীপ হতে।
But destiny had other plans.
কিন্তু ভাগ্যের পরিকল্পনা ছিল ভিন্ন।
I'm just a pot that no one cares for.
আমি এখন শুধু একটা হাঁড়ি, যাকে কেউ গুরুত্ব দেয় না।
Then the third pot joined in.
এরপর তৃতীয় হাঁড়িটিও কথা বলল।
I also feel the same.
আমিও একই রকম অনুভব করছি।
I love money. I wanted to become a piggy bank.
আমি টাকা ভালোবাসি। আমি একটি সঞ্চয় বাক্স (পিগি ব্যাংক) হতে চেয়েছিলাম।
People would have kept me filled with coins and happiness.
মানুষ আমাকে কয়েন আর সুখে ভরে রাখত।
But here I am, just another useless pot.
কিন্তু এখন আমি এখানে, আরেকটা অকেজো হাঁড়ি হয়ে।
After all three had spoken, they looked toward the fourth pot.
তিনজনের কথা শেষ হলে তারা চতুর্থ হাঁড়িটির দিকে তাকাল।
He was quietly smiling.
সে চুপচাপ হাসছিল।
The others got annoyed and irritated.
অন্যরা বিরক্ত হয়ে গেল।
What's so funny? They asked.
কি এত হাসির? তারা জিজ্ঞেস করল।
Aren't you sad too?
তুমি কি দুঃখিত নও?
It's been three months and no one has bought you either.
তোমাকেও তো তিন মাসে কেউ কেনেনি।
The fourth pot smiled again and said, of course I'm sad.
চতুর্থ হাঁড়িটি আবার হাসল এবং বলল, অবশ্যই আমি দুঃখিত।
I too had a dream.
আমারও একটি স্বপ্ন ছিল।
I wanted to become a toy.
আমি একটি খেলনা হতে চেয়েছিলাম।
I wished the children would play with me, laugh, and fill me with joy.
আমি চেয়েছিলাম বাচ্চারা আমাকে নিয়ে খেলবে, হাসবে, আনন্দে ভরিয়ে দেবে।
But life had a different plan for me.
কিন্তু জীবনের আমার জন্য ভিন্ন পরিকল্পনা ছিল।
And that's okay.
এবং সেটাই ঠিক।
Just because one dream didn't work out doesn't mean life stops giving chances.
একটি স্বপ্ন পূরণ হয়নি বলে জীবন সুযোগ দেওয়া বন্ধ করে দেয় না।

Maybe our time hasn't come yet.

Another month passed and summer arrived.
আরও এক মাস কেটে গেল, গ্রীষ্মকাল এসে পড়ল।
Now people in the village needed pots to store cool water.
এখন গ্রামের মানুষের ঠান্ডা পানি রাখার জন্য হাঁড়ির প্রয়োজন হলো।
The potter displayed those same four.
কুমোরটি সেই চারটি হাঁড়িই সাজিয়ে রাখল।
And this time, everyone wanted them.
আর এইবার সবাই সেগুলো কিনতে চাইল।
They sold quickly for a high price.
সেগুলো দ্রুত এবং ভালো দামে বিক্রি হয়ে গেল।
The four pots finally found their purpose.
চারটি হাঁড়ি অবশেষে তাদের উদ্দেশ্য খুঁজে পেল।
To quench people's thirst and bring comfort.
মানুষের তৃষ্ণা মেটানো ও স্বস্তি দেওয়াই ছিল তাদের কাজ।
They were now filled with water, happiness, and blessings.
এখন তারা পানি, সুখ ও আশীর্বাদে ভরা।
This story teaches us a powerful lesson about life.
এই গল্পটি আমাদের জীবনের একটি শক্তিশালী শিক্ষা দেয়।
Many people feel disappointed when they can't become what they dream of.
অনেক মানুষ হতাশ হয়ে পড়ে যখন তারা তাদের স্বপ্নের মানুষ হতে পারে না।
They start blaming fate and calling themselves failures.
তারা ভাগ্যকে দোষ দেয় এবং নিজেকে ব্যর্থ বলে ভাবতে শুরু করে।
But failure in one dream does not mean the end.
কিন্তু একটি স্বপ্নে ব্যর্থতা মানেই শেষ নয়।
Life always gives us new opportunities, often in ways we never expect.
জীবন সবসময় নতুন সুযোগ দেয়, অনেক সময় এমনভাবে যা আমরা কল্পনাও করি না।
So don't lose heart if things don't go your way.
তাই সবকিছু আপনার ইচ্ছামতো না হলে মন খারাপ করবেন না।

নিজের উপর বিশ্বাস রাখুন।
