সবাই মনে করে Facebook জিতেছে কারণ ওটাই আগে এসেছিল।

কিন্তু সত্যিটা আলাদা।

Friendster-এর ছিল ১১৫ মিলিয়নের বেশি ইউজার।
MySpace-এর ছিল প্রায় ১০০ মিলিয়ন ইউজার।

Facebook কিন্তু ২ বছর পরে এসেছে—একটা ভরা social network দুনিয়ায়।

তবুও…
একজন ১৯ বছরের ছেলে সবাইকে হারিয়ে দেয়। 💥

কীভাবে?

ফেব্রুয়ারি ২০০৪।
Harvard-এর একটা ছোট dorm room।
একটা ল্যাপটপ।
কোনো funding নেই।
কোনো বড় টিম নেই।

শুধু একটা আইডিয়া—
যেটাকে সবাই বোকামি ভাবছিল। 😌

এই ছেলেটার নাম Mark Zuckerberg।
আর সে বদলে দিতে যাচ্ছিল পৃথিবীর যোগাযোগের ভাষা।

সব শুরু হয়েছিল ব্যর্থতা দিয়ে।

২০০৩ সালের অক্টোবরে Mark বানায় Facemash।
Harvard স্টুডেন্টরা কে বেশি সুন্দর—তা ভোট দিত এখানে।

কয়েক ঘণ্টার মধ্যেই সাইট বন্ধ।
প্রায় এক্সপেল হওয়ার উপক্রম। 😳

এখানেই বেশিরভাগ মানুষ হাল ছেড়ে দিত।

কিন্তু Mark থামেনি।

সে একটা জিনিস লক্ষ্য করেছিল—
স্টুডেন্টরা একে অপরের ব্যাপারে ভীষণ কৌতূহলী।

সমস্যা মুখ রেট করা না।
সমস্যা ছিল—
Harvard-এর কোনো অনলাইন পরিচয়পত্র ছিল না।

কে কোন ক্লাসে পড়ে?
কে কোন dorm-এ থাকে?
কে কার সাথে ডেট করছে?

এই প্রশ্নগুলোর উত্তর কেউ জানত না।

Mark social networking আবিষ্কার করেনি।
Friendster, MySpace আগেই ছিল।

কিন্তু সে একটা জিনিয়াস চাল দিয়েছিল।

সেই সময় আসে Sean Parker—Napster-এর লোক।

সে একটা ছোট কিন্তু শক্তিশালী পরামর্শ দেয়।

TheFacebook থেকে “The” বাদ দাও।

ছোট পরিবর্তন।
কিন্তু বড় মানসিকতা। 🚀

২০০৪ সালের আগস্টে Peter Thiel দেয় $৫০০,০০০।
ভ্যালুয়েশন তখন মাত্র $৪.৯ মিলিয়ন।

আজ?
Facebook-এর ভ্যালু $১.৫ ট্রিলিয়ন+। 😲
