সম্প্রতি প্রকাশিত এসএসসি ২০২৬ এর ফলাফলে আঞ্জুমানের পারফরম্যান্স সাম্প্রতিক অতীতের যেকোনো সময়ের চেয়েও বেশি হতাশাজনক হয়েছে। না আমরা, না আমাদের জ্যেষ্ঠরা কেউই আঞ্জুমানকে এতটা খারাপ পারফর্ম করতে দেখেনি। সোশ্যাল মিডিয়া ও বিভিন্ন মহলে তীব্র সমালোচনা চলছে; কেউ কেউ এটিকে "নিজের জীবনের চেয়েও বড় পতন" বলেও আখ্যা দিচ্ছেন। তবে এই সমালোচনা প্রয়োজন; গঠনমূলক সমালোচনা ছাড়া ভুলগুলো শুধরে ঘুরে দাঁড়ানো অসম্ভব।
যদিও এই ফলাফলের পেছনে "লটারি প্রথাকে" প্রধান কারণ হিসেবে দেখা হচ্ছে, তবে পুরো দায় কেবল লটারির ওপর চাপিয়ে পার পাওয়ার সুযোগ নেই। কারণ লটারি তো পুরো দেশজুড়েই প্রযোজ্য ছিল। সমস্যাটি আরও অনেক গভীরে। একজন প্রাক্তন শিক্ষার্থী হিসেবে আমার মূল পর্যবেক্ষণগুলো নিচে তুলে ধরা হলো:
১. শিক্ষার্থীদের স্ব-উদ্যোগে পড়ার অভাব: নিজে থেকে শেখার মানসিকতা ও চর্চা আশঙ্কাজনকভাবে কমে গেছে।
২. প্রাইভেট এবং সাজেশনভিত্তিক পড়াশোনার ওপর নির্ভরতা: ষষ্ঠ থেকে দশম শ্রেণী পর্যন্ত অনেক শিক্ষক যেসব শিক্ষার্থীদের প্রাইভেটে পড়ান, তাদের বিশেষ সাজেশন প্রদান করেন এবং সে অনুযায়ীই স্কুলের পরীক্ষার প্রশ্ন করা হয়। যদিও সম্পূর্ণ সিলেবাস না পড়ে এসব সাজেশন মুখস্থ করে শিক্ষার্থীরা সাময়িকভাবে ভালো গ্রেড পায়, কিন্তু পরবর্তীতে সার্বজনীন বোর্ড পরীক্ষার প্রশ্নের মুখোমুখি হলে চরম বিপাকে পড়ে।
৩. শ্রেণীকক্ষে মানহীন ও দায়িত্বজ্ঞানহীন শিক্ষাদান: স্কুলে মানসম্মত শিক্ষাদান বলতে গেলে এখন আর নেই। সরকারি চাকরির নিরাপত্তার সুযোগ নিয়ে অনেক শিক্ষকই শ্রেণীকক্ষে তাঁদের দায়িত্বের প্রতি উদাসীন থাকেন। শিক্ষকদের আরও দায়িত্বশীল হওয়া জরুরি।
৪. লটারি-পরবর্তী ব্যাচগুলোর ভবিষ্যৎ: আগামী বছর থেকে পুনরায় ভর্তি পরীক্ষা চালু হওয়ার প্রবল সম্ভাবনা রয়েছে, যার অর্থ লটারি প্রথা আর থাকছে না। তবে লটারির মাধ্যমে ভর্তি হওয়া বর্তমান ৫টি ব্যাচকে যদি এখনই বিশেষ অগ্রাধিকার ও সঠিক দিকনির্দেশনা না দেওয়া হয়, তাহলে আগামী ৫ বছরের বোর্ড ফলাফল আরও বেশি বিপর্যয়কর হতে পারে। তবুও, শিক্ষার্থী এবং স্কুল কর্তৃপক্ষ যদি আন্তরিকভাবে চায়, তবে এখনও ইতিবাচক পরিবর্তন আনা সম্ভব।
লটারি এবং অন্যান্য প্রতিবন্ধকতা সত্ত্বেও, শিক্ষক ও শিক্ষার্থী উভয়ই যদি নিজ নিজ জায়গা থেকে সৎ ও সচেতন হতেন, তবে ফলাফল এতটা খারাপ হতো না। অঞ্জুমানের গৌরবময় ঐতিহ্য ও ধারা বজায় রাখতে সব পক্ষ—শিক্ষক, শিক্ষার্থী এবং অভিভাবক সকলকেই সমানভাবে সচেতন ও দায়িত্বশীল হতে হবে।
এখন দেখার বিষয়, স্কুল কর্তৃপক্ষ আগামী বছরগুলোতে লটারিতে ভর্তি হওয়া এই শিক্ষার্থীদের নিয়ে কী করতে পারে, কিংবা তারা আদৌ কিছু করার পরিকল্পনা করছে কি না!
In the recently published results, Anjuman's performance has been more disappointing than at any time in the recent past. Neither we nor our seniors have ever seen Anjuman perform this poorly. Extreme criticism is circulating on social media and across various circles. Some are even calling it "a bigger downfall than their own lives." However, this criticism is necessary; without constructive criticism, it is impossible to rectify mistakes and make a comeback.
Although the "lottery system" is being viewed as the main reason behind the results, there is no scope to escape by placing the entire blame on the lottery alone. This is because the lottery applied to the entire country. The problem lies much deeper. As an alumnus, my key observations are highlighted below:
1. Lack of Self-Directed Study Among Students: The mindset and practice of self-motivated learning have declined alarmingly.
2. Dependence on Private and Suggestion-Based Studying: From Class 6 to 10, many teachers provide special suggestions to the students they tutor privately, and the school exam questions are set accordingly. Although students achieve temporarily good grades by memorizing these suggestions instead of studying the full syllabus, they face extreme distress when confronted with universal Board exam questions.
3. Low Quality and Irresponsibility in Classroom Teaching: Quality instruction in school has become almost non-existent. Taking advantage of the job security offered by government service, many teachers remain indifferent to their classroom responsibilities. It is crucial for teachers to become more responsible.
4. The Future of Post-Lottery Batches: There is a strong likelihood of reintroducing admission tests starting next year, meaning the lottery system will no longer remain. However, if the current 5 batches admitted through the lottery are not given special priority and proper guidance immediately, the Board results over the next 5 years could be even more disastrous. Nevertheless, if students and school authorities actively desire it, a positive transformation is still achievable.
Despite the lottery and other obstacles, if both teachers and students were honest and conscious from their respective positions, the results would not have been this poor. To uphold Anjuman's glorious tradition and legacy, all parties—teachers, students, and parents must become equally aware and responsible.
Now, it remains to be seen what the school authority can do with these lottery-admitted students in the coming years or whether they are planning to do anything at all!
