Bangladesh Islamic Law Research and Legal Aid Centre (BILR&LAC) is a pioneering institution in the field of Islamic Law in Bangladesh and was established in 1995. Since its inception it has engaged itself in preaching Islam as the living, dynamic and complete code of life and creating awareness in the people in general and inviting them to the fold of true Islamic spirit. BILR&LAC arranges educational, training and research programs for the purposes of stimulating the researchers, scholars, judges, Lawyers, legal professionals, professors etc. towards the aspiration of familiarizing the supremacy and reality of rule of Law of the Quran and Sunnah. BILR&LAC seeks also to promote Islamic legal philosophy and orientation in Islamic Law including the Islamic concept of justice through publishing books, periodicals, scholarly Journals both in Bengali and English languages based on unanimous documentary books written by the great scholars since the 1st century of Islamic Calendar and the commentaries of modern jurists, scholars. For the accomplishment of above mentioned aims It organizes teaching of modern laws, Islamic laws, Jurisprudence, Maqasid Shariah etc. It also conducts advance studies & research and provides training in the relevant areas. It maintains a library with valuable books, Journals, CDs, found in Bangladesh in Arabic, English, Urdu and Bengali Languages. It produces the books, Journals with the help of a group of expertise in this field. It associates the modern Jurists and Islamic scholars (Fuqahas) with BILR&LAC. It tries to determine the ways of more effective application of Islamic Laws after a comparative study between the existing British Laws in Bangladesh and the Islamic Laws, to render Legal aid to destitute and helpless especially in case of violation of fundamental rights and of human rights, to develop methodologies for training, research in advanced studies in Islamic Law, to launch and conduct elementary and advanced correspondence courses facilitating an outreach through distance education, to serve as a depository of information on Islamic Law and Jurisprudence, to publish books, monographs, reports, journals and other material as may be considered necessary, to perform such other functions as may be necessary for the realization of its objectives. No great task is accomplished in the world without the help of others. BILR&LAC seeks your sincere help, valuable cooperation, precious advice and suggestions in every sphere of research As well.
