Communications Professional Experience
I am an experienced communications professional that worked in the City College of New York, City University of New York, where I worked in the Office of Communications, as the Office Manager/Special Assistant to the Vice President Communications/Public Relations, where I assisted the Vice President, and Director, Public Relations, in researching information for the President of the College, as well as, researching material for all of the President’s external, and internal speeches in regard to the College, for Alumni, Donors, Media, or Political leaders, or for the Senior College administrators, officers and Deans.
Along with the preparation for speeches, I was also responsible for sending out all press releases to all various New York area media outlets, for specific large events, such as, when Senator Hillary Clinton, and John Kerry, both have major donor events at the college. It was at the major events, in which I was also responsible for issuing all press credentials to all accredited members of the media.
I was also, responsible for maintaining newspaper clippings for all related stories about City College. Furthermore, I was responsible for keeping an electronic yearlong diary, about all related stories about City College, as well as, supplying the City College Alumni Association, with the listings of obituaries,
While I was working for, and after the Office of Communications, I spent two seasons working for the Community radio station of City College 92.7, The Voice of Harlem, as the Executive Producer of the City College’s Men’s Basketball Team, where I supervised five Communications majors at City College, as well as, working with all of the professional sound engineers of City College. I also, worked very closely with the General Manager of the Radio Station, The Athletic Director at City College, as well as, The Head Basketball, his coaching staff, the Gym Director, the Sports Information Director, and the City University Director of Sports Communications, along with all of the other City University, and CCNY opponent schools Sports Information Directors. I gather up statistical information, which was then formatted into the broadcasts. I also created a pre/post game, and halftime show format for entertainment purposes of the broadcasts, which also aired on the internet.
