Peaceful Rally by Arunachal Pradesh Indigenous Youth Organisation (APIYO)

Itanagar, October 24, 2025:
The Arunachal Pradesh Indigenous Youth Organisation (APIYO) on Thursday held a peaceful rally from Akashdeep to Tennis Court near IG Park, Itanagar, in collaboration with the All Naharlagun Youth Welfare Association (ANYWA) and the All Capital Complex Youth Association (ACCYWA).

The rally was held under the motto:
โ€œBachao, Bachao Arunachal Ko โ€” Bachao, Bachao Indigenous Ko (Save Arunachal, Save the Indigenous People).โ€

Key Demands of the Organisations:

1. Immediate cancellation of all alleged illegal constructions of Jama Masjid and Madrasa within the Twin Capital Complex (Itanagar & Naharlagun).

2. Immediate identification and removal of illegal Bangladeshi immigrants residing in the Twin Capital Complex.

3. Recognition of only two legally established Jama Masjids within the Twin Capital area.

4. Immediate banning of weekly markets operating in and around the Twin Capital Complex, including Doimukh and Hollongi, citing concerns over unregulated influx and settlement.

The peaceful demonstration saw wide participation from indigenous youth, community leaders, and representatives of several local associations, who collectively voiced their call for the protection of Arunachalโ€™s indigenous identity, land, and culture.

The District Administration has begun the property assessment survey for the 1720 MW Kamala Hydroelectric Project as per the circular issued on October 10.
Circle Officer and Nodal Officer Shri Balo Sakak informed that the survey started with government properties and will soon cover private structures, agriculture, and horticulture assets.

He stated that the process is progressing smoothly and peacefully, with active cooperation from the public and all stakeholders. Adequate security arrangements have been ensured to facilitate a fair and transparent assessment.

Itanagar, Oct 10: The All Nyishi Youth Association (ANYA) is set to celebrate its 49th Foundation Day cm Golden Jubilee Kickoff from October 13 to 15, 2025, featuring a series of sports and cultural events.

Briefing the media, Jamru Ruja, President of ANYA, informed that the three-day celebration will begin on October 13 with the sports opening ceremony. The event will be graced by Home Minister Mama Natung as Chief Guest, Likha Soni as Guest of Honour, and Neelam John, Chairman of the Sports Authority of Arunachal, as Special Guest.

The cultural opening ceremony, also scheduled for October 13, will be attended by Balo Raja, Minister of Urban Development, as Chief Guest, Pani Taram, Advisor to the PHED Minister, as Guest of Honour, and Tamme Phassang, Mayor of Itanagar Municipal Corporation, as Special Guest.

The main event, commemorating ANYAโ€™s Foundation Day, will be held on October 15. Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein will attend as the Chief Guest, while Prof. Tana Showren, President of the Nyishi Elite Society (NES), will be the Guest of Honour, and Biyuram Wahge, Minister of Health, will join as the Special Guest.
