In the picture, you can see three mountains fading into the distance. The tallest one? That’s Kris Taung. And this shot? Taken from another peak—Rungrang. But these aren’t just mountains to us. They are memories. They are milestones.
From January 24 to 29, Urban Sloth Studio went on its first-ever official tour. Or should we say... trek? Because this wasn’t just a trip—we climbed two mountains, back-to-back! For most of us, it was the first real trek of our lives. And yet, no one gave up.
The journey was brutal. Legs cramped, feet ached, but no one stopped. Not even once. Some slowed down, some struggled, but we pulled each other forward. At night, we huddled together in the freezing cold, shivering, but never complaining. And then... that moment. The first summit. We stood at the top of Kris Taung, staring out at the endless sky, feeling something we had never felt before—pure, overwhelming peace.
And we didn’t stop there. That same day, just before sunset, we summited Rungrang. We turned around and saw the insane distance we had walked. And in that moment, we knew—this was our achievement.
Six days. Trekking through forests, climbing cliffs, crossing rivers. Sleeping in remote indigenous villages, sharing stories, laughing with strangers who became friends. And the struggles? Oh, they were real. Our throats burned with thirst. Our water bottles? Almost empty. But we shared the last drops and kept moving.
And then, the final night. The journey home. Darkness all around. Our boat, stuck again and again on hidden rocks. And without a word, we got down. Ice-cold water hit our skin, but we pushed. We pushed that boat forward. And in that silent darkness, something happened. No one spoke. But tears? They came. Quietly. We cried.
It was over. Just like that.
Through it all, we missed Rudro. He couldn’t be with us, and we felt that absence every step of the way. But one thing became clear—Urban Sloth Studio? It’s not just a studio. It’s a family. A family that climbs mountains together. Falls, gets up, and keeps going.
And this? This is just the beginning.
But for now, to the entire Urban Sloth family—congratulations. We did something incredible! Cheers to us!
