The Marketing Alumni Association (MAA) was established in 1996 to connect and reconnect University of Dhaka graduates through diverse activities and experiences that foster and strengthen alumni support for the University. MAA assists alumni in fulfilling their role in enhancing the growth and developme

nt of the University. As integral members of the University community, alumni play roles as vital as those of faculty, students, and staff. A strong, dynamic Association provides a framework for engaging alumni talent and resources, supporting University objectives, representing alumni interests and concerns, and recognizing alumni contributions to the University community. With the motto of "Honoring Legacy, Inspiring Future! | 50 Years of Excellence 🎉" now we MAA family has initiated the Grand Celebration of the Golden Jubilee of the Department of Marketing. We are inviting all alumni, students, and well-wishers to join us in honoring five decades of legacy and inspiring the future.

হৃদয়ে সদা উজ্জ্বল আব্দুল্লাহ হিল রাকিব - জানাজা এবং শেষ শ্রদ্ধা জ্ঞাপন

প্রয়াত আব্দুল্লাহ হিল রাকিব ভাই – একজন আদর্শ করপোরেট লিডার, সাবেক সিনিয়র সহ-সভাপতি, বিজিএমইএ, এবং আমাদের অত্যন্ত সম্মানিত ভাইস-প্রেসিডেন্ট, Marketing Alumni Association-MAA, University of Dhaka (MAA-DU)।

তাঁর কর্ম, নেতৃত্ব ও মানবিকতাই তাঁকে সকলের মাঝে বেঁচে রাখবে।

𝐀 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐋𝐨𝐬𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐥𝐮𝐦𝐧𝐢 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲

With deep grief and unbearable sorrow, the Marketing Alumni Association-MAA, University of Dhaka mourns the sudden and tragic demise of Abdullah Hil Rakib — Managing Director of Team Group, former Senior Vice President of BGMEA, and our beloved 𝐕𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭.

إنا لله وإنا إليه راجعون (𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐚 𝐋𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐡𝐢 𝐖𝐚 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐚 𝐈𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐡𝐢 𝐑𝐚𝐳𝐢𝐮𝐧)

An alumnus of the 1991–92 session (Honours 20th Batch), Department of Marketing, University of Dhaka, Mr. Rakib was more than just a leader — he was a brother, a mentor, and an inspiration to countless peers and juniors.

On 𝟗 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓, around 𝟑:𝟎𝟔 𝐏𝐌 local time in 𝐎𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐨, 𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐝𝐚, he lost his life in a tragic 𝐛𝐨𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 at 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐨𝐧 𝐋𝐚𝐤𝐞, alongside his friend, fellow traveler and pilot 𝐒𝐚𝐢𝐟𝐮𝐳𝐳𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐧. Their sudden passing has left us in deep shock and mourning.

Mr. Rakib’s contributions to the RMG sector of Bangladesh, his leadership at BGMEA, and his tireless work in uplifting people and institutions will be remembered forever. His humility, kindness, and visionary spirit touched everyone he met.

We are shattered by this irreplaceable loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, colleagues, and loved ones.

ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের মার্কেটিং এলামনাই এসোসিয়েশনের ( MAA- DU) নতুন নির্বাহী কমিটির শপথগ্রহণ

২৫ এপ্রিল, ২০২৫: ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় মার্কেটিং এলামনাই এসোসিয়েশনের ( MAA- DU) ২০২৫-২০২৭ মেয়াদের জন্য নতুন নির্বাহী কমিটির শপথগ্রহণ শুক্রবার, ২৫ এপ্রিল ২০২৫ অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ব্যবসায় শিক্ষা অনুষদের প্রফেসর ড. আব্দুল্লাহ ফারুক মাল্টিপারপাস হলে এই অনুষ্ঠানের আয়োজন করা হয়।

এর আগে গত ১৮ এপ্রিল ২০২৫, মার্কেটিং এলামনাই এসোসিয়েশনের বার্ষিক সাধারণ সভায় ২০২৫-২০২৭ মেয়াদের জন্য এই কমিটি ঘোষণা করা হয়। নবগঠিত কমিটির সভাপতি হিসেবে দায়িত্ব পেয়েছেন ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের মার্কেটিং বিভাগের অধ্যাপক ড. আশরাফুল ইসলাম চৌধুরী , সাধারণ সম্পাদক হিসেবে দায়িত্ব পেয়েছেন খন্দকার মো. রাফিক হাসান।

নবগঠিত কমিটির সভাপতি অধ্যাপক ড. আশরাফুল ইসলাম চৌধুরী তার বক্তব্যে বলেন -তিনি বর্তমান ও প্রাক্তন এলামনাই এবং বিভাগের ছাত্র-ছাত্রীদের মধ্যে মেলবন্ধন তৈরি করে এক শক্তিশালী নেটওয়ার্ক গড়ে তুলতে এবং মার্কেটিং বিভাগের উন্নয়নে নিরলসভাবে কাজ করে যাবেন। তিনি আরো বলেন -নতুন নির্বাহী কমিটি এলামনাইদের মধ্যে পারস্পরিক সংযোগ বৃদ্ধি, বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের উন্নয়নমূলক কর্মকাণ্ডে সহায়তা এবং মার্কেটিং পেশার অগ্রগতিতে অবদান রাখার লক্ষ্যে কাজ করবেন।

অনুষ্ঠানে উপস্থিত ছিলেন ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের মার্কেটিং বিভাগের প্রাক্তন ও বর্তমান শিক্ষক-শিক্ষিকাবৃন্দ , মার্কেটিং এলামনাই এসোসিয়েশনের প্রাক্তন ও বর্তমান এলামনাই এবং মার্কেটিং বিভাগের শিক্ষার্থীবৃন্দ ।

উল্লেখ্য ,১৯৭৪ সালে ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের মার্কেটিং বিভাগ প্রতিষ্ঠিত হয় এবং ১৯৯৬ সালে মার্কেটিং এলামনাই এসোসিয়েশন (MAA- DU) যাত্রা শুরু করে।
