Academic Research And Writing’

• Academic Writing differs from other kinds of writing. To be fruitful to the readers academic writing must be systematically researched based directing to the key-points and it should be clear, concise, and professionalized for the clear conception of the readers.
● Citation and Referencing: While using information from the scholarly researched paper works of the notable writers or authors of any age, the writer continuing to the writing must include the reference of the source from where he/ she has gathered data or information for making the academic writing creative and useful to readers. Common styles of ‘Citation and Referencing’ include APA, MLA, and Chicago.
● Structure: Academic texts possess a vivid structrue which gives view to the points building on each other not jumping backwards and forwards. The writing starts with more general thoughts and then moves to the specific ideas and points. More relevant information should written first and everything should logically be relevant to the main argument point of the academic writing.
● Formality and Tone: It is necessary to use formal language with passive voice in the writing aiming to objective in nature of scholarly and logical sequence of compose any new ideas by anyone.
● Precision and Clarity: Anybody, with view to writing any research based work, has to choose the simple ,precise language and meaningful words to establish logical coherence and sequence with each other to make the readers capable to realize the central theme of topic.
● Evidence and Argumentation: Different types of data, theories and quotes are organized critically to support arguments which are also established by evidence. Statement of purpose must be included in the writing so that the readers would understand it easily.
● Using Hedge Words: The writers must be aware of the fact that others might disagree with the position they’ve taken. So that they have to use the hedge words like “probably,” “possibly,” “maybe,” “it suggests,” and “it seems” to make statements more accurate and to avoid appearing dogmatic.
● Emphasizing evidence, often in tables, graphs, and images: For better communication writers would have to follow inserting some graphs, tables, and images to emphasize the evidence to be acceptable to other writers and readers also relating to the specific field of writing.
● Adopting a voice of authority: Academic writers use the active voice and the first person (“I” or “we”) when focussing on personal opinions, feelings, etc but not at the time of prefacing statements with phrases like “I think or it seems to me”

● Qualitative Research: Qualitative Research refers to the deeper understanding and the reason of the social phenomena. It relies on the deep insight into the human experience. Besides, this type of research gives emphasis on how interviews, observations and analyses of texts occur.
● Quantitative Research: ‘Basically Quantitative’ Research is based on generalizing results of wider population, finding patterns and averages, testing casual relationship and making predictions through application of numerical and statistical data .
● Descriptive Research: This type aims to accurately describe a situation, population or phenomenon. It provides an overview of what happens, where it happens when and how the research happens. In this research wide variety of data are conducted to investigate one or more variables to reach supportive ideas.
● Experimental Research: This type of research includes a form of comparative analysis in which two or more variables are studied and observed a group under certain condition. It's common in sciences where controlled experiments can be conducted. It is common in sciences and is a cause and effect based research.
Exploratory Research: This type of research is focused on the investigation of an indefinite problem or phenomenon. This research is sometimes kept under investigation and thus a preliminary or a little idea can be gain from it which seeks to get new insights or to establish hypothesis.
