| Linthoi Chanambam from Manipur clinched the bronze medal at the World Junior Judo Championships, marking another milestone in her judo career and bringing pride to the state and the nation.

Linthoi had earlier won gold in the 57 kg women’s category at the 2022 World Judo Cadets Championships in Sarajevo, becoming the first Indian to medal in any age category at the World Championships. She also won gold at the 2022 Asian Cadet Championships and bronze at the 2021 Asian Junior and Cadet Championships.

Her latest achievement reinforces her status as one of India’s prominent young judokas on the international stage.

Competing in the -63 kg category, the 18-year-old defeated France's Jaelynn Chipan in the final to secure this landmark victory. The tournament saw participation from 618 athletes across 37 countries.
