Women are soft, loving but she stand strong when needed. Manipuri women have bravely led protests over the years - from the first Nupi Lan in 1904 against the British, to the second Nupi Lan in 1939 to the 1970s Moira Paibi movement against drug abuse and alcoholism in society.In 2004, 12 women standing naked against AFSPA. Brave Meitei women still fighting forpresent ongoing war in Manipur.
There have been other women-led movements across the country, but Nupi Lan stands as a powerful testament to the power of women's voices in history.
