Today is not just the day a footballer says goodbye…
Today marks the end of a huge chapter of our lives. 🔟🇦🇷💔
2005 — It all began with an 18-year-old boy.
His international journey began with Argentina, and from that moment, a legend started to rise.
In 2005, he won the FIFA U-20 World Cup.
Then, in 2008, he won Olympic Gold.
That little boy was slowly becoming one of the biggest stars the world had ever seen.
2006 — His first World Cup.
2007 — Copa América final.
2010 — Another World Cup, but the dream remained unfulfilled.
2014 — The World Cup final… so close, yet the trophy slipped away.
Then came 2015 and 2016 — back-to-back Copa América final defeats.
The pain became unbearable.
In 2016, he even announced his retirement from international football.
But we got him back.
Because a legend’s story doesn’t end that easily…
2019 — Copa América third place.
2021 — Finally, the wait was over.
Argentina won its first major international trophy in years — Copa América.
The tears in Messi’s eyes…
The way he hugged that trophy…
That moment will forever remain in our hearts. 🇦🇷💙
2022 — THE YEAR OF MESSI.
First came the Finalissima.
And then came the Qatar World Cup 2022.
The trophy a man had cried for, suffered for, been criticized for, and fought for year after year…
He finally lifted it with his own hands.
And proved once and for all:
MESSI NEVER GAVE UP. 🔟🇦🇷🏆
A World Cup.
A Golden Ball.
Countless records.
Countless unforgettable moments.
It felt like there was nothing left to prove.
Then came 2024 — another Copa América triumph.
And now…
2026.
The final World Cup.
The final battle.
The final time wearing that legendary No. 10 on the World Cup stage for Argentina.
He fought all the way to the final, and eventually, that incredible international journey came to an end.
August 31, 2026.
Lionel Messi officially said goodbye to the Argentina national team.
2005 → 2026
21 years of international football.
207 appearances.
125 goals.
1 World Cup.
2 Copa América titles.
1 Finalissima.
1 Olympic Gold Medal.
1 U-20 World Cup.
But numbers will never be enough to explain Messi.
Because Messi didn’t just win trophies—
Messi taught an entire generation how to love football.
And what about my story?
Messi is where my football journey began.
I started watching football because of Messi.
I learned to love football by watching Messi.
Every goal.
Every victory.
Every defeat.
Every tear.
I grew up alongside all of it.
And today, when Messi said goodbye, it felt like something inside me was saying goodbye too.
It feels like my journey of watching football has ended with him.
Maybe there will be many great players in the future.
Maybe some will break his records.
Maybe some will win the World Cup.
But…
There will never be another Messi.
Because Messi is not just a footballer.
Messi is a feeling.
Messi is an era.
Messi is an emotion.
Messi is history.
After today, maybe I will never be crazy about another footballer the way I was about him.
Maybe I will never stay awake for a match with the same excitement.
Maybe I will never scream after a goal with the same passion.
Because for me—
Football = MESSI. 🔟
Messi is where my football journey began…
And today, with his international retirement, it feels like my journey of watching football has come to an end too.
Thank you, Leo Messi. 🤍
Thank you for coloring so many beautiful years of my life with the magic of football.
Thank you for teaching me to dream.
Thank you for teaching me to keep coming back after every fall.
Thank you for finally bringing us the World Cup we had waited so long for.
You are not just one of the greatest of all time—
You are the definition of football to me.
2005 — The beginning…
2026 — The farewell…
Forever — THE GOAT. 🐐🔟
Gracias por todo, Leo.
You will never walk alone.
Vamos Argentina… 🇦🇷💙
Forever our No. 10. 🔟
Forever our GOAT. 🐐
