Last year we helped UFX Studios with the look development of the magic FX coming from the board game "The Werewolves of Miller's Hollow". 🐺

At Skerm West, we believe authenticity comes from imperfection. For the animated show EXIT TALES, currently in early production, we developed a unique effect that makes digital coloring feel truly hand-drawn—like a child coloring outside the lines, moment by moment.

We developed a compositing technique that recreates the organic, ever-changing quality of crayon or marker strokes coming from a child’s hand. Every frame, slightly different. Because when a child tells a story, nothing stands still. Authenticity is in the imperfections. And that’s what brings stories to life.

Last weekend we visited Oslo and finally got to see Valemon: The Polar Bear King. This fast-paced family film delivers a fairy tale that pulls all the right strings. So happy to have been on the ride!

RTÉ (Ireland) and Ketnet (Belgium) have created a new live-action series (eight x 24 minutes) called "Louise Lives Large" for kids ages 9 to 13, which is about a teen cancer survivor working her way through a bucket list of all the things she has always wanted to do.

As you can see in the first shots of the trailer, Louise has no eyebrows. Luckily the actress did not have to shave them since we were able to digitally remove her eyebrows in all shots within the opening sequence of the series.

“Petite Casbah” is a serial animated mini-series aimed at children aged 6 to 12 about the daily lives of Khadija, Malek, Lyes, Philippe, and Ahmed, children living in Algiers at the start of the conflict in 1955.

Skerm West was happily involved for technical and productional support, and tailored the workflow between the studio’s in Brussels (Enclume Animation), Ghent (Lumiere) & Paris (Darjeeling).

Exciting news about Immuno-T!

Remember Professor Tessa Kerre's brilliant idea to explain cancer treatments in a way everyone could understand? Well, we've been working hard to take her interactive motion comic to the next level!
After two years of design and development, Immuno-T has had an amazing transformation:

- Everything's now 100% redone in 3D
- We have comic book-style explanations AND animated videos
- There's even a cool VR experience at Living Tomorrow!

Why? Because understanding modern cancer treatments should be easy for patients, families, and anyone curious. The best part? It's still free and available on web, iPhones, and Android phones!

Thanks to UZ Gent, Ghent University, CRIG, and ION, we're making cancer education clearer for everyone.
