🇦🇱 Thousands of Albanians have been protesting for weeks against a €4 billion luxury resort backed by Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner.

🦩 Flamingos have become the symbol of the movement, as protesters fear devastating damage to one of the most biodiverse coastal areas in the Balkans. Demonstrators are also calling for the resignation of Albania’s PM Edi Rama over allegations of corruption in the matter.

What do you think? Would the investment really benefit Albanians?

🪙 How would it feel if your country changed the currency you’ve been using your whole life?

➡️ Most young Europeans have never lived through this experience, but Bulgarians have. In January 2026, their country joined the Eurozone, swapping out the Bulgarian lev for the euro.

🇧🇬 While ENTR was in Sofia to attend the GTF Youth Forum, we decided to chat to some young Bulgarians about this transition, and how it’s affected their lives. Here’s what they told us 👆

What about you, would you be up for crossing the Atlantic by boat? 🌊👀

🇺🇸 In any case, that’s what Jules, Eloïse and eight other students from just did to return from their school’s American campus to France.

⛵ A trip that took them three weeks on board of the Neoline Origin, the world’s largest sailing cargo ship, which uses wind as its main power source.

🌬️ With impressive results: their return to France only generated an estimated 5kg of planet-warming CO2 emissions per person, compared to nearly a tonne had they taken the plane.

🐬 From sailing over the Titanic’s wreck to their stopover on the archipelago of Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon, they told us all about their daily life at sea.

Which animal should be the next World Cup oracle? 🐙🔮⚽

The World Cup is almost here, and believe it or not, it’s not just animals making predictions anymore – humans and even AI are getting involved, too.

According to reports, an AI analysis has picked Spain to win the tournament. Meanwhile, our Portuguese colleagues told us about a Brazilian “World Cup psychic” who’s already handed the trophy to Portugal. Economist Joachim Klement, on the other hand, is betting on the Netherlands this year.

So, who’s going to be right? And more importantly: which animal should be the next World Cup oracle? 👀

Emmanuelle faces a dilemma: whether to leave her island or try to stay. As a first-year law student at the University of the Antilles, she knows that if she wants to fulfil her dream of becoming a lawyer, eventually she will have to leave Martinique. 🛫

And she’s not alone. It’s a routine choice young people in the French overseas territory need to make. On this island in the Caribbean, not all degrees and specialisations are available. Lacking opportunities, many students leave to complete their studies in mainland France, without knowing when they’ll return…

For our latest YouTube documentary, we spent a few days filming Emmanuelle, who told us what it’s like to grow up in Martinique. Check out her full testimony on our YouTube channel! 🔗

Romania now recognises femicide as a crime distinct from murder: but why does it matter? 🇷🇴

⚖️ Femicide, which refers to the murder of a woman because of her gender, highlights the systemic nature of violence against women. Classifying it as such also helps to collect data, make it more visible and, ultimately, fight it better!

💥Following Italy last November, Romania is the latest European country to introduce the concept of femicide into its criminal code. It will now be treated as aggravated homicide, with a sentence of 15 years to life imprisonment.

🎤 Our reporter asked Romanian NGO to tell us how activists helped to change the law.

🙏 Thanks to our colleagues at .entr 🇷🇴 for their help!

What if doping wasn't the scandal, but the point?

🏆 On May 24th in Las Vegas, 50 athletes will compete at the Enhanced Games, where doping is not just allowed, but encouraged, and a world record is worth $1 million.

💵 Supported by investors including Peter Thiel and Donald Trump Jr., their promoters see the games as the future of human performance. Critics, on the other hand, warn the dangers are real, and inevitable.
