شبکه توسعه آقاخان (AKDN) پس از زلزله‌ای که در ۳۱ آگوست افغانستان را لرزاند، یک واکنش اضطراری را بسیج کرده است.

تیم‌های واکنش در اولین ساعات پس از زلزله به مناطق آسیب‌دیده رسیدند. از آن زمان، آنها در حال ارائه مراقبت‌های پزشکی اضطراری، انجام عملیات جستجو و نجات جان انسان‌ها و توزیع اقلام غیرغذایی و همچنین کمک‌های غذایی اضطراری برای حمایت از خانواده‌هایی هستند که خانه‌ها و دارایی‌های خود را از دست داده‌اند.

کارکنان و داوطلبان با شرکا و سایر فعالان بشردوستانه در محل همکاری نزدیکی دارند و منابع و تخصص فنی را برای تقویت تلاش‌های نجات‌بخش بسیج می‌کنند.

The Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) has mobilised an emergency response following the earthquake that struck Afghanistan on 31 August.
Response teams reached the most affected areas in the earliest hours after the earthquake. Since then, they have been providing emergency medical care, conducting life-saving search and rescue operations, and distributing non-food items as well as emergency food assistance to support families who have lost their homes and belongings.
Staff and volunteers are working closely with partners and other humanitarian actors on the ground, mobilising resources and technical expertise to strengthen life-saving efforts.

The President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, today received Mawlana Hazar Imam at Qasr Al Shati, the presidential palace of the UAE in Abu Dhabi.
The meeting was attended by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman, Presidential Court for Special Affairs; H.H. Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Adviser to the UAE President; H.E. Reem bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy, UAE Minister of State for International Cooperation; Dr. Ahmed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the President’s Office for Strategic Affairs and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Office; H.E. Sultan Ali Allana, Representative of the Aga Khan; and Aziz Merchant, President of Ismaili Council for the UAE.
During the meeting, Sheikh Mohamed and Hazar Imam discussed how the UAE and the Ismaili Imamat can partner to address areas of mutual interest and concern, especially in shared human values, co-existence, quality of life, and inclusiveness.
Hazar Imam praised the UAE’s role in humanitarian assistance, stability, peace and promoting shared values across the Ummah.
The leaders emphasised that they must work together to strengthen the wider Ummah’s unity, moderation, and resilience in a time of global uncertainty.

Mawlana Hazar Imam arrived in Nairobi, Kenya, this afternoon at the invitation of His Excellency William Ruto, President of Kenya.

He was received by Honourable Musalia Mudavadi, Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign Affairs, and Honourable Aden Bare Duale, Cabinet Secretary for Health. Amin Mawji, AKDN Representative to Kenya, and Shamira Dostmohamed, President of the Ismaili Council for Kenya were also present.

A delegation of Jamati leaders welcomed Hazar Imam on behalf of the Jamats from Botswana, Burundi, Eswatini, Namibia, Rwanda, South Africa, and Kenya.

The Jamat lined the streets in front of Darkhana in Nairobi to await Hazar Imam’s motorcade with happy faces and waving flags. Preparations have been underway for weeks, and volunteers have been working tirelessly to ensure a smooth and meaningful experience for all.

During his visit, Hazar Imam will meet with President Ruto and senior officials of the Kenyan government, and will grace the Kenya jurisdiction Jamat with didar.

, 40 years ago (23 August 1985), the Ismaili Centre Vancouver was opened. At the opening ceremony, Mawlana Shah Karim spoke about the building’s architecture and how it symbolises the Jamat’s commitment to both Canada’s future and their ancient heritage.

In recent weeks, flash flooding and glacial lake outbursts have caused widespread destruction across Pakistan, especially in Gilgit-Baltistan, Chitral and other vulnerable mountain communities. Due to monsoon rains triggering flash floods and landslides, villages have been severely affected, homes damaged, farmland submerged, and livelihoods disrupted.
In response, The Ismaili Council for Pakistan, along with community volunteers and AKDN agencies, are leading efforts on the ground to help those affected.

The North-South Prize is awarded each year to two candidates who promote solidarity between the North and South, and have distinguished themselves in the protection of human rights, defence of pluralist democracy, and raising public awareness on issues of global interdependence and solidarity.

Mawlana Shah Karim discussed the importance of pluralism and hope in this speech at the North-South Prize Ceremony on 12 June 2014 in Lisbon, Portugal.
