Step by Records is a new record label set up by Belgian saxophonist Stéphane Mercier. The need for this label was felt because of the too many existing productions compared to the current reality of the record market: the record companies do not follow anymore, because of the lack of means on the one hand, and on the other hand because of the imbalance between the productions and the rate of relea

Very proud to announce today’s release on all platforms!

Piano Improvisations is a contemporary jazz piano solo project by the pianist
and composer Franco Piccinno, blending jazz improvisation with influences
from twentieth-century classical music.
Built from simple ideas that evolve spontaneously, the music explores the
piano as both a rhythmic and expressive instrument.
Jazz elements coexist with modern classical textures, extended harmonies,
and an attentive use of nuances. Conceived as improvisation in real time, the
pieces function like short paths that form a cohesive journey, revealing an
intimate and exploratory approach to the solo piano.

Incontournable de la scène nationale et internationale, le Jazz Station Big Band est devenu au fil des ans une partie intégrante du patrimoine bruxellois. Acclamé par la presse et reconnu par ses pairs, le big band a sorti plusieurs albums sur les labels Igloo, Hypnote Records, et sur Step By Records.
Soutenir une résidence mensuelle dans un club (la Jazz Station) pendant près de vingt ans ne s’était encore jamais vu en Belgique. Mais il n’y a pas que cela : de nombreux festivals et salles extérieures font appel au big band, qui en profite pour collaborer avec des invités exceptionnels.
