“Hark” unfolds at the intersection of early and electronic music. Built on baroque elements, it revolves around an organ, with a string quintet and harp performed by Echo Collective. A repetitive, almost obstinate cello line acts as a hypnotic backbone, establishing continuous tension. Deep vocal canons disrupt the balance as the track grows denser, driven by 808 bass and electric guitar, a meeting point between baroque writing, electronic power, and expressive saturation.

With this album, Late Bush blends electronic music (power ambient, IDM, avant-pop) and early music, which share the same affective intensity, a taste for ornamentation, and a form of sonic excess.
At the heart of this material, AI-cloned voices, both human and spectral, extend the idea that any baroque interpretation is a reconstruction of the unknown. In contrast with organic strings, they create a temporal and radical hybridization, shaping a fluid and unstable material between memory and simulation.

Late Bush presents ‘Hoarses’, available from 24 April on the VLEK label.

With this album, Late Bush offers an original repertoire, blending electronic music (power ambient, IDM, avant-pop) and early music.

At the heart of this material, AI-cloned voices, both human and spectral, extend the idea that all baroque interpretation is a reconstruction of the unknown. They contrast with organic strings recorded in the studio with Echo Collective, in a radical temporal hybridisation, creating a fluid and unstable material, between memory and simulation.

MT Gemini is back with Hawk Deh Near, his most accomplished and radical album to date.

The title is taken from a Jamaican proverb, ‘Chicken merry, hawk deh near’, which could be translated as ‘if the chicken is happy, the eagle is never far away’, a double-edged expression combining humour and warning. It sums up the central tension of the album: an apparent lightness constantly threatened by a muted violence, ready to erupt.

Closer to a form of incantation than a reproduction of a genre, Hawk Deh Near transforms reggae into experimental, mutant electronic music, responding to one form of otherness with another, no less fascinating. Fragments of rhythms, melodies and textures are deliberately taken out of context, stretched, saturated and twisted to give rise to compositions that are both abrasive and hypnotic. Repetition, saturation and a tendency towards psychedelia become tools of sonic deconstruction, shifting conventional structures towards unstable, transfigured forms that offer unprecedented journeys.

Hawk Deh Near was recorded, produced and mixed by Yannick Franck using an approach that is resolutely opposed to the polished and hyper-controlled standards of digital production.
