Workshop with Michael Ackerman
Two exciting full days to talk about your images with Michael Ackerman, both your own and those of others, two days that will also enable you to find the right words to talk about your own work.
"Who are you? What are your obsessions? What are you exploring, searching for, questioning? When I'm confronted with someone else's work, that's what intrigues me. Photography that isn't about photography, or about style, or confined to a category, but photography that transcends all that. I am interested in the social, emotional and mental territories that you are exploring. Photography as a revelation of humanity, what it means to be alive, for the photographer and the world they inhabit."
> The workshop is open to anyone, regardless of your level of experience so far, who is working with photography in a personal way. This means using photography to explore the world you live in and your place in it. To explore your interests, your concerns, your obsessions. What is important is an openness, a curiosity, a hunger to learn and a need to go deeper.
> On the first day, Michael will present his work, his various projects and his life history. On the second day we will look at, discuss and edit each participant's work, offering ideas about how each of us can go deeper in our photography. We will do this together, with the idea that a workshop is not a lecture, but a collaboration.
