Welcoming home for cutting edge Belgian jazz cats and forgotten treasures from the past. Sdban Records is an independent record label, obsessed with grooves.

It is the youngest member of the N.E.W.S. Records family, based in Ghent, Belgium. The label started off as a sixties and seventies compilation and reissue label, with label boss Stefaan Vandenberghe’s impressive personal vinyl collection at its core. The very first release was a milestone right away. The acclaimed ’Funky Chicken: Belgian grooves from the seventies’ compiled the best funk tracks f

rom the Belgian Seventies, a genre and era overlooked by many. The label also released reissues and retrospective compilations from the likes of André Brasseur and Koen De Bruyne. After two years of digging dusty crates, SDBAN broadens its horizon and starts focusing on contemporary talent as well. SDBAN Ultra is the sister label focusing on today’s lively jazz and funk scene, which is simply too exciting not to be explored.

New Orson Claeys single “RODNEY’S DANCE” bridges two worlds that have always shared a spirit of creativity, freedom, and innovation: skateboarding and jazz.

Inspired by Rodney Mullen and skate culture, the track is a tribute to the people, places, and moments that shaped him as an artist, while offering a first glimpse of Orson’s debut album, due out in autumn 2026.

With this new one, Bnnyhunna deepens the artistic language he first articulated on his celebrated debut Echoes of a Prayer. Gospel harmonies remain at the heart of the music, now carried by smooth funk rhythms, jazz improvisation and deep grooves that invite both reflection and movement.

The reissue of Le Monde Fabuleux Des Yamasuki hits the shelves today! 🏮

This cult album, originally released in 1971, was written and produced by Jean Kluger and Daniel Vangarde (aka Bangalter, father of Thomas Bangalter of Daft Punk), and later sampled by Erykah Badu, Bananarama and Dope Lemon.

Released under the name Yamasuki (also known as The Yamasuki Singers), the project was never meant to be a conventional touring band. Instead, it was a studio-born pop fantasy: psychedelic and playful, blending funk rhythms, samba touches, bubblegum melodies and chants performed by a children’s choir, all topped off with unforgettable battle cries and ritual shouts.
