🇪🇺 Tomorrow is the day of our State of the Union!

At 9:00 AM CEST on 16 September, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen will deliver her State of the Union address before the European Parliament in Strasbourg.

But this is more than another annual speech, it's where the future direction of the EU is debated.

Europe faces a choice: remain a union too often slowed down by 27 national vetoes and fragmented national interests or become a Europe capable of acting together on defence, foreign policy, competitiveness, democracy and our common future.

We need a stronger, more sovereign and more united Europe. We need a Union capable of protecting its citizens and defending its interests and values.

We need the courage to take the next step towards a federal Europe. 🇪🇺

And something special is coming: a new very close partnership will be announced between the EU and Canada. 🇪🇺🇨🇦
