Focusing exclusively on feature length works of fiction and television series, our offices are based in Brussels, in Flanders and in Paris.

With offices in Brussels, in Flanders and in Paris, Umedia's VFX division has expanded rapidly, amassing over 40 international film credits to date. Focusing exclusively on feature length works of fiction and television series, our mission is to provide creative solutions in keeping with the director's vision, whilst never losing sight of the bottom line. We are also able to finance up to 60% of the overall VFX budget, a unique service we offer in Europe. In Vancouver, accredited productions can access a multitude of tax incentives including the Digital Animation, Visual Effects and Post-Production Tax Credit (DAVE).

📍Synopsis: In Paris nowadays, Anastasia (Deva Cassel), a young dancer, joins the prestigious Opera Garnier. While she is rehearsing Orpheus, an opera piece created by the damned Phantom of the Opera (Julien de Saint-Jean), she falls in love with a mysterious pianist (Romain Duris). As opening night approaches, unexplained accidents occur....

✨ We are proud our artists created the VFX of this film directed by Alexandre Castaggnetti and adapted from Gaston Leroux’s novel. A FullDawa and SND production, in co-production with Umedia.

🎲Board Games night at UFX Studios! 🎲

Last Thursday, our teams gathered to play Time’s up and other games while sharing drinks and food. It was the occasion to bring everyone together after the summertime season, from experts to casual board games players! ✨

The night kicked off with a draw and Juliette, Kevin and Aurelian had the chance to win exciting UFX Studios goodies. 🎟️

Laughter and good vibes were definitely part of the evening! Thank you all for joining! 😊

✨A movie our artists worked on at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).

We are proud to announce that, after its selection in Competition at the 83rd Venice Film Festival, L’estranea directed by Paolo Strippoli will be premiered in Canada, in the "Midnight Madness" category!

📍Synopsis: Anna, 59, arrives at her daughter Alice’s house to reveal that their family history is based on a lie. She confides that she made a pact with a mysterious stranger twenty years earlier, sacrificing a member of her family to save Alice. Anna must now break the spell.

👀Discover the trailer of Justin le Juste, Éric Barbier’s upcoming film with VFX created by our artists.

📍Synopsis: 1915, Justin a farmer leaves its farm to fight against an enemy he doesn’t know. With Basile, a Senegalese infantryman, he discovers the absurdity of war, rebels against the command and becomes a hero despite himself.

🎞️ A production Vertigo production and Scope production, with VFX created in collaboration with Digital District.

🍿After its premiere at the French Film Festival of Angoulême in August, Justin le Juste is scheduled to be released in theaters on September 23rd.

Welcome to Behind the Pixels, an exclusive interview series that takes you on a captivating journey into the world of visual effects through the perspectives of our talented individuals.

In this episode, we are joined by Kevin Szmir, VFX Producer for UFX Studios. We look back at his journey into the VFX industry and explore his role as VFX Producer, a position dedicated to project leadership and coordinating all the teams involved.

🎬 After studying film and working as a camera assistant on set for a couple of years Kevin realized he had many qualities required in production roles. He moved from set to production and post-production and joined UFX Studios as a VFX Producer.

📅 As VFX Producer, he embodies the link between the client and the artists working on a project. His main tasks go from delivering digital shot work for projects to managing the client’s expectations regarding the team and resources the studio has.

🎥 From his passion for cinema as a teen to his vision of the future of the VFX industry considering the ascent of artificial intelligence, Kevin shares his experiences, inspirations and advice for anyone interested in joining the world of visual effects.

👀Discover the first images of “Ducobu et le fantôme de Saint-Potache” directed by Élie Semoun, a movie presented at the “Mega screening in Carat” of the French Film Festival of Angoulême.

📍Synopsis: Professor Latouche and Miss Rateau move into a house… haunted by the ghost of Anatole, the biggest dunce in the history of Saint-Potache School. This prankster ghost will lead Ducobu, Léonie, their parents, and Kitrish into a series of adventures that are as funny as they are unexpected.

👀Another glimpse at “Il Mestiere” directed by Beppe Tufarulo, a movie selected in the Parallel Section of the Venice Film Festival.

📍Synopsis: Sauro Cantafame brings back to life the dead for a fee, scamming the social welfare system through a bizarre mechanical art. Across a southern borderland that smells of the Wild West, he travels in his Apecar with Giocondo, a fragile boy on the run. Between weird encounters and surreal landscapes, Sauro’s journey becomes a desperate mission to protect the boy from a local criminal deity and settle a painful debt with his own past.
