Today, Google joined EASA, the European Advertising Standards Alliance, as the first digital pure play company member to join the self-regulatory network.

Google joins a membership group of 13 industry associations, which represent various stakeholders in the advertising eco-system, alongside 28 advertising self-regulatory organisations.

Tamara Daltroff, Director General of EACA, reacted to the news by saying:

“EACA and its communications agencies members welcome Google’s active support for advertising self-regulation by becoming a member of EASA. The advertising ecosystem is only as strong as all of its players working together. Google becoming the first digital platform to join EASA is a milestone and key achievement to secure the future of responsible advertising and consumer protection."
