📍After the madness
Back in August, we planted the very first seed of what would grow into this year’s .foodietop100.
Putting the list together is a labour of love every single year, with countless nominations and even more careful balancing acts.
🇧🇪 Our country boasts an extraordinary wealth of culinary talent, spread across every layer of the food world: chefs, sommeliers, hosts and hostesses, wine merchants, brewers and farmers, chocolatiers and pâtissiers, media personalities, influencers, journalists and bloggers.
🎧 The june. foodie top 100 is not an exact science - and it was never meant to be. Just like that other, ahum, famous list of the greatest songs of all time, where The Beatles edge out Avicii, and Nirvana climbs even higher.
🥚 Our own nirvana arrived today, after three weeks of full-blown culinary madness, kicking off, for the very first time, with a 30 Under 30. And that’s an incredibly encouraging sign: more and more twenty-somethings (and even teenagers!) are embracing gastronomy, proudly sharing their passion through platforms like TikTok and Instagram.
🔗 So what is the june. foodie top 100 ®️?
It’s a showcase of talent. A catalyst for networking. A conscious effort to spotlight quiet achievers and celebrate the bold. To connect an organic farmer with a chef, a journalist with a sommelier. To spark conversations. To create connections.
🥳 Of course, there will always be a proverbial number 101. With over 30 new names joining the list each year, it’s inevitable that some will be disappointed.
And there are other paths to explore, too. For now, we celebrate Flemish talent in Flanders, but many of our compatriots are making waves abroad, just as many internationals are shaping our local scene.
A French-speaking foodie top 100 feels almost written in the stars. And finally, the idea of an event - one year from now - is growing louder by the day. Let’s celebrate live in 2026?
Now more than ever: . And thank you for being a foodie.
