Ojoo are intimate nights with dedicated DJ's playing whatever they like for a crowd where everyone can feel welcome.

In Ghent dialect, you say “ojoo” to express joy and wonder, especially to share those feelings with others around you; this is the spirit that defines Ojoo Music. A series of events bringing forward-thinking underground electronic music with a sincere passion for vinyl. We need our music to be challenging and innovative and hold a high appreciation for artistic individuality (as opposed to hypes o

r trends) with the utmost respect for the veteran artists who over the years continuously maintain a standard that we greatly appreciate. We need a connection between artist and dancer, so the small and intimate venues is where you will find us. RECORD LABEL
The idea of creating a platform that supports artists we stand for would not be complete without an opportunity to share their music with the world. To offer this, we started with the record label to release music that we believe should be heard and shared for people to enjoy, clubbers to dance and DJ's to play. The passion for the original craft of spinning tunes, that certain pleasure in the effort when playing and a love for the classic physical format has led us to release on vinyl only. In the summer of 2019, our first EP ‘Club Rotation’ by ‘Session 4000’ was released. The second one is planned in October 2019 by resident and fixed value ‘Gols’ who is highly cherished by our most loyal dancers and since recently holds a residency at Belgium's most respected club ‘Fuse’ in Brussels. Together, they craft dynamic sets where deep grooves and playful vibes collide, keeping the dancefloor locked in until the very last track.

For those who don’t know me yet, I’m Méni (fka Menica, Sundae Sue), founder of this little universe we’ve been building together.

My journey started with a deep love for jazz, funk, soul, and R&B, and over the years, I naturally drifted into the world of electronic music through parties in Ghent and Brussels. What’s always been most important to me is the bond between artist and dancer, that magic connection we create together on the floor.

That philosophy led me to start Ojoo Music back in 2017, and later Good Fruit in 2020, a podcast and event series for slowing down, listening deeply, and sharing good energy.

From past residencies at Fuse to my current home at Funke, I’ve carried one thing with me: music is best when it’s shared with friends, dancers, and dreamers.

I can’t wait to bring that energy to our last open air of the season on Saturday and dance it out with all of you. 🤸‍♀️💚

With a record bag that speaks louder than trends, Vera has carved her place as one of the most respected selectors in the underground. Guided purely by intuition, her sets weave timeless sounds into fluid narratives, raw, elegant, and always unexpected.

Rooted in the golden age of house and techno, she’s been behind the decks since the early ’90s, carrying over a decade of deep experience into every space she touches. From intimate floors to some of the world’s most vital clubs like Robert Johnson, Panorama Bar, Fabric, Rex, Goa, and DC-10, her presence leaves a lasting imprint.

A true vinyl devotee, Vera’s focus lies not in genres or peak-time bombs, but in the atmosphere, tension, and story she builds each night.

Based in Berlin, she channels her vision into her own imprint Melliflow, curating forward-thinking sounds and hosting regular nights at Club der Visionäre, one of her most beloved homes.

Vera remains a rare presence: understated yet magnetic, classic yet forward-looking. An artist who lets the music speak, and always keeps the dancefloor guessing.

𝗟𝗶𝗹𝗮́𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿

Where simple ingredients and curious ideas come together to make something just a little unexpected.

First: a fresh mix of beetroot and mandarine, not your usual tartare. It’s balanced on a smooth layer of sweet potato purée, dotted with capers and a hint of lime zest. On the side, crunchy blue corn nachos, made for scooping and dipping into a lemon-tahini sauce with a quiet sriracha kick.

Then: something warm and familiar, but not quite as you know it. Korean cabbage, slowly roasted and caramelised in a rich tomato sauce, with a creamy mix of feta, yoghurt, roasted garlic, lemon, and capers. Sharp, soft, salty, smooth, each bite tells its own story.

This is 𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗙𝗿𝘂𝗶𝘁 𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗼𝗱: colourful, curious, and meant to be shared.

🍑 Next up: the founder of Good Fruit herself.

Méni is the artistic identity of a Belgian DJ, label owner, and longtime record collector who’s been quietly shaping the Ghent scene since 2012. Formerly known as Menica and Sundae Sue, her sound blends jazz, funk, soul, and the golden strands of electronic music, always guided by a deep love of groove and a soft spot for nostalgia.

In 2017, she founded Ojoo Music, a label and event series rooted in artistic individuality and rhythm, named after a Ghent expression of joy and wonder, shared in moments that move you.
During lockdown in 2020, she started the Good Fruit podcast series, inspired by Funkadelic’s mantra “Good Thoughts, Bad Thoughts.” What began as a deep listening audio space now blooms into real life: a day-long, open-air chill-out session in the green embrace of De Tuin van Heden.

For Méni, the connection between artist and dancer always comes first. Whether behind the decks, curating a lineup, or building community, her focus is clear: soulful sounds, honest energy, and music that lingers long after the last note.

Last year, we gathered in De Tuin van Heden to co-create a massive group collage under the watchful eye of Blad Lijm Schaar. The result now lives on the walls of one of Ghent’s most beloved community spaces, a testament to what we can build together.

This year, we're taking it a step further.

We'll be creating another large-scale collaborative collage, but this time, it will be sold to raise funds for food aid in Gaza.
The situation is dire. And while our contribution may be small, we believe in the power of creative action to spark care, connection, and solidarity.

Join us this Sunday for a day of music, art, and quiet resistance, hosted by Good Fruit x Lilás x Childhood Intelligence.

🌀 Introducing Venus News Network aka Alexander, selector, curator, chef, and the mind behind Childhood intelligence.

Recognition moves quietly. For artists like Alexander, it often speaks through the act of creating: subtle shifts in form, tone, and energy that build into something lasting. With a foundation in fashion design and a considered sense of aesthetics, Alexander has nurtured Childhood Intelligence into more than just a label; it has grown into a multifaceted platform for timeless, genre-defying music. Since its inception, Childhood Intelligence has cultivated a distinct visual and sonic identity, merging esoteric electronics, deep-rooted storytelling, and explorations of self into over 20 vinyl releases. 🌿✨ Welcoming Diogo Lacerda to the Good Fruit universe ✨🌿

Lilás, the creative project of Portuguese, Ghent-based artist Diogo Lacerda, named after the Portuguese word for “purple,” began as a radio show for Collect Radio in Lisbon and has grown into a creative platform and DIY music label.

For Diogo, a multidisciplinary artist, Lilás became a much-needed sanctuary, an alternative to the usual clubbing spaces, where different skills could come together and music could be shared freely, without boundaries or expectations. Here, you’re invited to slow down and appreciate sounds, flavours, visuals, and artistic expressions of all kinds. Above all, Lilás is a welcoming space for artistic collaborations and exploration, a quiet reflection of Diogo’s vision and passions.
