Neuroblade erupted onto the scene in 2023 as the brainchild of David Vandewalle of SHOCKER and Jochen Mouton of ENCHANTRESS, delivering a fresh yet nostalgic take on Heavy Metal. Combining technical mastery with unrelenting creativity, the duo has crafted a sound that balances ferocity and melody with precision.
Initially, David laid the groundwork for the project, recording blistering guitar riffs and thunderous basslines in his home studio. Leveraging modern production tools, he meticulously layered these with programmed drums to form the backbone of their tracks. But it’s in the collaborative sessions with Jochen where the music truly came alive. Jochen’s soaring vocals infused the instrumentals with energy, emotion, and depth, transforming raw ideas into fully realised compositions.
Their latest single, "Endless Slaughter," featured below, was expertly recorded at Ultimate Dynamics Studio in Belgium, is an electrifying showcase of what Neuroblade brings to the table. With a relentless assault of up-tempo Heavy and Thrash Metal, the track is laced with an old-school melodic sensibility that makes it impossible to ignore. Jochen’s vocal performance is nothing short of mesmerising—his unique tone, remarkable range, and emotive power elevate the song to exhilarating heights.
And that brings me nicely to the featured single - "Endless Slaughter."
This track is a raw and unflinching portrayal of war, tyranny, and human suffering. The lyrics dive into themes of corruption, blind obedience, and the devastating cost of power, painting a grim picture of lives lost and hope eroded. Musically, the track is relentless, with pummelling riffs and dynamic vocals that amplify its urgency. This single is a powerful commentary on the human condition, delivered with crushing intensity and melodic precision.
For fans of bands like Judas Priest, Crimson Glory, and Silver Talon, Neuroblade offers a thrilling blend of classic inspiration and contemporary energy.
