Canadian powerhouse Alissa White-Gluz starts her long-awaited solo career with a new single, “The Room Where She Died”, out now everywhere via Na**lm Records

For years, Alissa has been releasing original music and self-directed music videos exclusively for her Patreon community. Now, the multi-faceted artist is ready to share her latest single with the world at large. Having performed on the world’s biggest stages as one of death metal’s most recognizable voices and enchanting the world as a leading woman of the scene, ALISSA teams up with Oliver Palotai of power metal virtuosos Kamelot, with whom she has performed and co-written multiple times before.

“The Room Where She Died” moves away from the style she has been known for in recent years: making use of her impressive range in both clean vocals and fierce growls, she embellishes the sophisticated composition with an orchestral intro, catchy riffs, and even a jazzy interlude. GAEREA, een gemaskerd collectief uit Porto, heeft zich in minder dan tien jaar tijd opgeworpen als een van de meest bijzondere krachten in de hedendaagse metal. De band verkent de donkerste kanten van post-black, moderne black metal en melodieuze trance, en zet zijn transformatie voort met ‘Loss’, hun vijfde album en eerste release bij Century Media. Op het podium biedt Gaerea een totale ervaring: een intens, spiritueel, bijna liturgisch ritueel dat doet denken aan de impact van Amenra of Neurosis.

Volledig in het zwart gekleed, hun gezichten verborgen achter hun sigil, creëren ze een hermetische esthetiek waarin muziek, identiteit en performance één worden. Metal powerhouse Lions At The Gate proudly announce the release of their explosive new single, “Burn The Candle,” which arrives alongside a visually striking music video directed by Vicente Cordero. This marks the band’s first official unveiling since signing with Reigning Phoenix Music. The track delivers a sharpened edge, renewed urgency, and a bold declaration of what fans can expect from the band’s next era, set to unfold in 2026.

Frontman Cristian Machado shares powerful insight into the song’s meaning:

“Burn The Candle is a song about the divide being driven into our societies. Hatred is being normalized right in front of our eyes. No one is immune to it, we are being fed constant direction to build fortresses around our hearts because it’s a war out there, and so lead your ego into battle. Main Square Festival 2026: Twaalf nieuwe namen!

Na de aankondiging van meerdere grote namen uit de internationale muziekscene in de afgelopen weken (Katy Perry, Orelsan, Twenty One Pilots, Paul Kalkbrenner, Marshmello, L2B, Charlotte Cardin en Vald x Vladimir Cauchemar x Todiefor), onthult het Main Square Festival een nieuwe golf van 12 namen die stap voor stap het programma van 2026 vormgeeft.

Een vrijdag onder het teken van feest en groove

Cassius, een iconische figuur van de French Touch, zet de toon met een zonnige en onweerstaanbare show vol legendarische klassiekers en een hernieuwde podiumenergie. Daarvoor brengt het Mexicaanse fenomeen Midnight Generation zijn onweerstaanbare mix van retro-pop-funk. De Frans-Koreaanse Miki, een nieuwe popstem met gedurfde en stralende creativiteit, zorgt voor een frisse en onvoorspelbare touch op deze eerste dag. Luiza brengt warmte met haar hybride pop, tussen reggae, Braziliaanse invloeden en aanstekelijke energie.

Een intense, rauwe en krachtige zaterdag

De terugkeer van Asaf Avidan met zijn volledige band belooft een theatrale en krachtige performance, waarin folk, rock, blues, jazz en emotie samenkomen. Tussen dromerige zachtheid en ritmische uitbarstingen zal Yamê een van de meest gevoelige en sfeervolle momenten van het festival neerzetten. Daarnaast zorgt Nono La Grinta, echte rookie van de Franse rap, voor opschudding in de Citadel: ongefilterde storytelling, onmiskenbare refreinen en een bliksemsnelle opkomst dankzij zijn hit “Paris”, inmiddels het volkslied van PSG, kampioen van Europa. Ook Eve La Marka, bekend uit Nouvelle École, is erbij. Zij belichaamt de nieuwe stem van de Franse rap: een krachtige mix van sterkte en kwetsbaarheid, gedragen door een magnetische podiumprésence.

Een zondag waar wereldpop, nieuwe generatie soul en ridderlijke techno samenkomen

De Amerikaanse popster Reneé Rapp, momenteel wereldwijd in opmars, stopt in Arras tussen twee internationale arena's door. Verwacht brute energie en een XXL-performance. Ook de nieuwe krachtige stem van de internationale soul, Don West, is van de partij en brengt zijn alom geprezen debuutalbum naar het podium. De Bretonse producer Perceval, een sensatie dankzij zijn middeleeuwse techno met miljoenen views, voegt een epische en unieke sfeer toe aan de avond.

En als kers op de taart maakt Zaho haar grote terugkeer op het podium: 16 jaar carrière, tijdloze hits en een tournee voor 2026 die nu al stormloopt.
