ZELFKASTIJDING IN HET OPENBAAR
Elk tijdperk kent zijn eigen vorm van zelfpijniging. In de middeleeuwen sloeg men zichzelf met zwepen om een rein levenspad te verzekeren. Zelfkastijding mag dan wel oneigentijds lijken, ook vandaag de dag vertoont de tijdgeest schijnbaar zelfondermijnende handelingen. Zijn deze louter het product van versplinterdheid? Of streven deze ook naar reiniging, die middels een eigentijdse vorm wordt geopenbaard?
Dit is het thema van de komende editie van ZEITGEIST, het tijdschrift dat tracht de tijdgeest van de Leuvense wijsbegeerte te vangen. Alle inzendingen zijn welkom, dus aarzel niet om ons je filosofisch inzicht, dialoog, gedicht, interview of illustratie door te sturen.

SELF-FLAGELLATION IN PUBLIC
Every era has it's own form of self-torture. In the middle ages, people beat themselves with whips to ensure themselves a clean path in life. Self-flagellation may seem uncontemporary, but even today the zeitgeist shows apparent self-defeating actions. Are these merely the product of fragmentation? Or do they also strive for purification, which is
revealed through a contemporary form.
This is the theme of the upcoming edition of ZEITGEIST, the magazine that aims to capture the spirit of the times of the Leuven Institute of Philosophy. All submissions are welcome, so don’t hesitate to send us your philosophical insight, dialogue, poem, interview or illustration.
