In her book 📘 'Women and Work through a Comparative Lens', Nena Vandeweerdt compares women’s roles in the labor markets of Antwerp and Mechelen (Brabant) and Bilbao (Biscay). By studying these distinct contexts, the book offers a deeper understanding of gender and work in premodern Europe.

🔗 https://lup.be/book/denken-en-dialogeren-over-identiteit/

📢 Book Review Alert!
📙 'Ferenczi Dialogues: On Trauma and Catastrophe', by Raluca Soreanu, Jakob Staberg & Jenny Willner

"Soreanu, Staberg and Willner provide a book that is rich and thought-provoking and restores Ferenczi to a place of significance in clinical psychoanalytic theorizing. They examine Ferenczi’s thinking in ways that counter Freud and expand upon his concepts." - John Pellitteri, Journal of Analytical Psychology

Available in paperback and Open Access 🔓
📖 'Architecture in Oceania (1840-1970): Para-Colonial Influences – Colonial Transactions – Postcolonial Legacies', edited by Michael Falser
🔗 https://lup.be/book/architecture-in-oceania-1840-1970/

Knowledge of colonial architecture in the South Pacific remains sparse, with often-overlooked connections to para-colonial settings and postcolonial continuities. This edited volume seeks to address these gaps, focusing on the period from 1840 to 1970 across the broader South Pacific region. With a rare focus on German colonial influences in the region, the contributions go beyond the predominant narratives of British and French colonial influence. This volume is a valuable resource for students and researchers of architectural history and colonial history in Oceania.
