Today we finally received the email from the European Parliament explaining why our petition was closed.
After reading it, we are left with more questions than answers.
Once again, institutions seem very quick to declare success and claim that progress has been made. Many large NGOs proudly announce their meetings with politicians and Parliament representatives as major achievements. But where are the real results?
Dogs are still suffering in Spain.
Every year, an estimated 45,000 to 50,000 dogs continue to disappear. Abuse, abandonment and exploitation remain widespread. Meanwhile, the timeline being given for implementing effective traceability measures is simply unacceptable.
How many more years do animals have to wait?
We also believe there needs to be far greater transparency regarding how funds are used within the animal welfare sector. Millions are raised in the name of animal protection, yet the suffering on the ground continues. Animals need action, not endless reports, meetings and promises.
The time for polite handshakes, photo opportunities and empty words is over.
We will continue to speak up for the dogs who have no voice and continue to demand real action, real accountability and real change.
Read the Parliament's letter and judge for yourself.
Donations that go to us will go to Asociación RGSA Rescue Group for Spanish Animals
We stay transparant on our new website we will post all the donations made every month.
(Still under construction) You will find it under financial in the menu.
