Awsome afternoon, activating 3 WWI bunkers in Vissenaken on ONBOTA !
Combo of portable operators : ON3SOW & ON3BAF !!
With the G90 HF transceiver working the Buddipole dipole in a V-configuration on 20W.
Dispite the wonky propagation on 40m, we connected also to other activated bunkers and operators from the north of Norway to the south of Italy.
More of this to come !

Tomorrow activating the WWI ammunition bunkers of Vissenaken (B) in the afternoon, teaming up with Stefan ON3SOW !!
Working on 20m mainly, when lack of propagation we are moving to 40m.

Tested this cheap RADTEL TL12 handhelds today. Why ? This is the deal : emergency radio for the YL ON3SVK, when she's on the road or at the QRL.
Programmed several repeaters and 2 simplex channels all on 70cm into the channel slots, it runs offset and CTCSS, so no problems on that. ON0UBA repeater was worked perfectly. Advantages : small to fit a handbag, no difficult manipulations during distress, a very loud speakeroutput for noisy situations ( seriously !!), list of frequenties/channel in the back, about 2W output. The coil antenna renders rather well for it's size.
This is better then noting, when the sh.. hits the fan. Where the handbag goes, the radio goes. It has a 3 day RX standby radius.

Life is good. Being prepared is better.
