5/10 : THE SUN ROOM

The sun room, or winter garden as we call it at Gruuthuyse, is the last room before you step outside. With the most light (and the best wifi connection), it’s always a welcoming space to find focus and peaceful views 🌳

With our upcoming 10th edition, we felt it was the perfect time to celebrate the five summers, nine residencies, and the fifty and more artists that have traversed the castle…

4/10 : THE LIVING ROOM

The living room can be an intimidating space, but when the shutters are drawn back and the furniture pulled in, the room shifts and inspires the residents who choose to seize it. It encapsulates the spirit of « making the space your own » that the castle requires: every room can feel made for you. 🏰

With our upcoming 10th edition, we felt it was the perfect time to celebrate the five summers, nine residencies, and the fifty and more artists that have traversed the castle…

3/10 : THE PIANO ROOM

At the heart of the castle and the residencies is the piano room: the cosiest and most intimate space, it fosters focus and inspiration, and by the end of the day invites us to gather and share our progress 🎵

2/10 : THE DINING ROOM

Next to the kitchen is the dining room with the longest table you can find! A great communal working area, it connects to many rooms as well as the outdoors. It’s also the perfect space to host our celebrations. Probably our most iconic room in the castle! 🌟

📯De oproep voor de 10e - ja, de tiende! - multidisciplinaire residentie van GRUUT is open tot 17 mei 2026!

De residentie vindt plaats van 17 tot 30 augustus in het kasteel van Gruuthuyse in Oostkamp (België).

Voor deze residentie worden acht kunstenaars uit verschillende disciplines geselecteerd, die elk hun eigen project kunnen ontwikkelen. De selectiecriteria zijn de wens om artistiek te experimenteren, de overeenstemming tussen de behoeften van de kunstenaar en wat de residentie te bieden heeft, en de diversiteit van de groep en de kunstdisciplines.
Het doel van deze residentie is enerzijds het netwerk van elke deelnemer te verrijken en nieuwe samenwerkingen mogelijk te maken, en anderzijds het artistieke onderzoek te stimuleren door een inspirerende creatieve omgeving te bieden.

De residentie wordt op zaterdag 29 augustus afgesloten met een kunstenaarsparcours, waarbij de deelnemers het resultaat van hun werk presenteren.

📯 L’appel pour la 10e - et oui, la dixième ! - résidence multidisciplinaire de GRUUT est ouvert, jusqu’au 17 mai 2026 !

La résidence se déroulera du 17 au 30 août au château de Gruuthuyse, à Oostkamp (Belgique).

Suite à cet appel, huit artistes de disciplines différentes sont sélectionné.es, chacun.e pour y développer son projet personnel. Les critères de sélection sont le désir d’exploration artistique, la correspondance des besoins de l’artiste avec ce que la résidence offre, et la diversité du groupe et des médiums.
L’objectif de cette résidence est d’une part enrichir le réseau de chaque participant.e et permettre l’émergence de nouvelles collaborations, et d’autre part stimuler la recherche artistique en offrant un cadre de création inspirant.

La résidence se clôture le samedi 29 août par un parcours d’artiste lors duquel les participant.es sortant.es présentent le résultat de leur travail.
